Looking for a new STD...

 

We ran the air operations for UPHOLD DEMOCRACY (the Haiti thing in '94) out of the Pope AFB (literally fenced within Ft Bragg to keep the Army out) NCO club. Took the whole parking lot, set up all of our equipment, plugged into commercial power, then turned the club into the CAOC. Worked great. When the 82nd shipped off to Haiti, they issued a General Order #1 that all Air Force personnel were expressly forbidden under penalty of court martial to not go to the Bragg NCO clubs.

So...apparently that's a long standing tradition of "cat's away" syndrome.

Dude, it got bad for a bit. Since we staged the revolt and ousted the management company, shit is getting better. I still don’t like the fact that I can’t King of the Hill on the sidewalk with a cooler of beer and chat with my neighbors without someone saying some shit, but, compromise is a part of life.

 

We do that here all of the time. Just don't attach the cooler to the side of the house and we're good.

 

What community do you live in?

I have a buddy that lives in Hammock Creek, fucking Naziville.

I live in Rocky Point and I live on 1 of the 2 streets that is an HOA, but our HOA is strictly for the marina, they cant tell me jack shit what to do with my house, so it really has zero affect on my life other than the mother fuckers raised the yearly fee from $130 to $200. I just got done with a massive fight with those cock suckers though, complete with me storming up to the president when he was outside his house talking to a neighbor and calling him a piece of mother fucking shit and then telling him to go fuck himself and that he is the king of the douche bags (pretty much those exact words), so we aren't friends........I lost a shit ton of sleep over that (not really)

I've fucked women on my front lawn, can't say shit to me.

 

I just moved into an HOA and they dont seem to do shit. I get not wanting people telling you what to do, but enforcing property upkeep is different. The streets around me are nice and pretty well upkept, but when we walk the dogs there is one guy with a busted window with duct tape holding insulation over it, grass overgrown to the point of silly, and one motherfucker near me has a chicken that wont shut the fuck up in the mornings.

 

Everyone pretty much takes care of their shit on my street, a few streets there are a couple that have unruly yards, but for the most part everyone is pretty good about their homes on the peninsula. The thing I like about it is that you have no reason to be ON the peninsula unless you live there or are visiting someone there, so it's really quiet. Shit, I get more golf cart traffic than actual vehicle traffic in front of my house.

 

We have a no public alcohol consumption rule and people like to report it when you are visibly drinking a beer within view of the street.

I'm in Heatherwood off of Crosstown in PSL. I use to live in Hammock Creek up until 2 years ago. HOA was the reason we sold. I constantly got notices for my Tacoma not meeting community standards.

I understand the property upkeep stuff and am okay with that. No one wants their hood turning into a place where it's okay to have an 84 IROC on blocks in the front yard. We have some renters on our street that don't keep up with their landscaping and have the upstairs street-side windows covered in aluminum foil along with several junked dirtbikes on the front porch.

 

Yeah, I dont understand how that no truck rule is even allowed in this country. America fucking invented the mother fucking pickup, the rule is just down right UN-American IMO, if you want to make a rule about no company logo'd vehicles, I get that. But to say a guy can't park his pick up in the driveway is fucking communism!!

 

Wife wanted a place in the Monarch CC in Palm City and the Martin Downs POA has a no pick-up and no motorcycle rule. I have both.

 

That's not an HOA, that's a bullshit festival. More than 2/3rds of our community owns trucks.

And drinks beer.

 

South Florida (New New York) is full of people that view pick-ups as "service vehicles" and unfortunately a lot of these communities look down on those that don't drive German, Italian, or British manufactured vehicles.

 

Fuck the New Yorkers.....fucking assholes anyhow.

 

That makes sense. When I was up in Rochester working I learned that pickups were treated (and taxed) that way, and Honda Ridgelines were registered as SUVs.

 

I also never saw a car older than 10 years up in Rochester. I assume that they rust out after that.

 

Pretty sure, they salt the fuck out of everything up there. Which sucks because that shit is really bad for the environment.
