Question for Suspension Gurus.....and anyone else :)

I'm looking to upgrade my suspension. Not necessarily lift, but maybe level. Right now I'm on stock coilovers and shocks and stock height, which of course means the truck takes a little bit of a nose dive. I'd like to bring the front up out of that nose dive, but keep the back relatively the same.

So...

Based on what I've seen, this is what I'm thinking...

Bilstein 5100 all around and OME88x coils. The adjustable perch up front, obviously. Set the perch on the lowest notch....maybe...with OME 88.........4? 3? I'm sure there may be several combinations that would give about the same inch or so of "lift" to level it out. Maybe Low notch with 884?...second notch with 883? Believe me, I'm asking not telling lol...that's just where my mind went when I was thinking about it.

So, question is which combination is best. No off-roading (other than the fact that I live in Illinois....and these roads....holy shit). Just every day driving...95%+ on pavement.

Low notch + 884s?

Second notch + 883s?

Some other setup that I'm not experienced enough or smart enough to think of?

Any thoughts appreciated.

FWIW I'm going with 5100's with 885's, that's after spending a loooooong time reading threads in the suspension section. Marie at @HeadStrong Off-Road gave me alot of valuable input, as did a few TW members local to me. But hit up the suspension threads first, it will take some time.
Look down the road (no pun intended) at what your end goal is with the truck - are you going to want armor, a cap, RTT, etc. that way you avoid having to buy twice.

 

Remember its your truck at the end of it all. Decide what you want to get out of it. Grocery getter, mall crawler (what most of us have haha) or if you want to go to the extreme. Then go from there. Do it right and do it once and trust me you will be much happier and better off.

 

if you dont really want a lift or just a lil closer to level. 5100's all around, stock coils set at the .85 notch (1st notch up from the bottom) and call it done.

 

Hmmm, that would save the money on the coils, assuming my current coils are good...which I assume they are.

 

I have searched, but there is a LOT of information to sift through lol. I'll go through it again with my present mindset (level, not lift) and see what happens.

I dont think i have ever heard of OEM coils going bad, hell they dont really even settle at all like the aftermarket ones from OME / eibach etc.

 

Misunderstanding.... Right now I have stock coils (unless stock is OME). I was looking at getting OME88x to get the 1-2" leveling lift.

 

OME = Old Man Emu

OEM = Original Equipment manufacturer (the stock factory coils)

So yeah, stock (aka OEM) coils dont tend to go bad.

 

HAHAHA....I misread your post . Roger that....OEM is stock....OME is what I'm considering.

Find a set of 3rd gen take offs. That give you an inch while leaving the perch on the lowest setting.

I tow a boat, so I wanted to keep the take. Icon 3 leaf progressive aal with the overload leaf removed. That gave me 1.5" in the rear.

I've got over 300k on my truck. I figured the front coils were getting soft by now, and found coils cheap in the 3rd gen marketplace.
