What are you paying for 2020 Tacomas?

I have zero issue buying out of state and having it shipped to me if I can get a price to make it worthwhile. So far, not having much luck. You try and negotiate price and they basically respond with, "when can you come in and take a look at it?"

Sounds about right. I'd give them a call and explain situation. This is what I had to do to help my brother with his new Escape, he's currently sitting in quarantine at Eielson AFB, wanted to take advantage of Ford's 0% and huge rebates, so I did all the trade/negotiating and initial paperwork for him, they took care of the rest.

 

I would say that's overall a pretty good deal, especially for a 24/24,000 mile lease. You negotiated roughly 10% off MSRP, which is ok, but you got a great MF. When I was looking to lease back in May, the residual was 81%, but the MF was .00215 (Cali). I decided to buy since the APR was 0% to purchase or .00215 (5.16%) to lease.

 

I think I was giving my thoughts on how the entire supply of Tacoma's was basically depleted nationwide over the course of 6 weeks. Thanks for code of conduct reminder.

I think I could have gotten more off if I had been more aggressive, but I usually aim for 10% off MSRP and they gave it too me without too much resistance (unlike my other attempts to get a Tacoma), so I didn't feel the need to get greedy. Maybe I should have.

With that MF and the fact that I wasn't entirely in love with aspects of the truck, leasing worked really well for me. I couldn't have afforded the monthly payments on that truck by buying it on a 60 month loan at 1.9, which is what they were offering at the time.

 

You can get LEDs for the rear just order them! I can get you a link, mine are amazing!

 

MSRP in Southern California for my 2020 TRD Pro MGM 6s M/T.

Had to wait about 3 months till Feb 2020 for my dealer to do a dealership swap.

Other dealers were trying to get me to pay $10k market adjustment fee.

They ended up trading an automatic Army Green to some dealer in the middle of the country.

Agreed, I've leased a bunch of cars in the past, the Tacoma is actually the first vehicle I've purchased. If I could have gotten the lease deal you did, I probably would have leased too. I just hope you didn't put too much down.

 

I just paid the first month, the doc fee, and for tags and registration up front. No down payment. My upfront cost was about $700.

 

And you know your speculation of how COVID-19 only impacted "low wage service jobs", etc. which you continue to defend and the reminder addresses why your statement was inappropriate but guessing you chose not to read it. Again welcome to TW.

 

I recently purchased (April 2020) a 2020 Tacoma TRD Sport with the technology package for 34800 plus tax and license it totaled around 37000 plus change out the door. I went through a broker (friend of my son) where he did the leg work for me. I believe it was a decent price, as I bought in a small window where at that time the COVID virus was causing panic in the car industry and the dealerships were panicking. Right now (July 2020) a used Tacoma are almost selling as much as the new Tacoma.

 

Can you post the original MSRP and list what incentives you received?

 

Relax, it was just an opinion, or speculation based on anecdotal evidence and personal experience. It's obviously not absolute, more like a trend. I did link an article in Forbes that discusses the issue and supports my contention, so I don't think I was off base. Anyway, I was just brainstorming why at the beginning of April dealers were, for once, cutting great deals on Tacoma's and how that contributed to the current under supply situation.

Usually brokers charge a flat fee or a stepped fee based on the purchase price.
