Hello looking to purchase my first truck. I'm stuck between a 2020 Tacoma or Tundra. Can you please give me some input from your experiences owning a taco?

    Thanks in advance!

You want more room and shitty gas mileage grab a tundra. You want less room and bad gas mileage buy a Tacoma.

You can’t go wrong with either one. I’ve got both and like each for their own reasons.

the tundra is definitely roomier with more power. Fuel economy is most people’s complaint (14-15 mpg) but with the 38 gallon tank it’s not that big of a deal and there are lots of modified Tacoma’s in that same range. Parking in the city is an issue for some

the Tacoma is obviously smaller both overall and interior, more nimble, plenty capable. The automatic can be annoying (I’d personally regear it to 4.88s), the MT is much better suited for this truck. Fuel economy for my truck is typically 18-22.

most of the time I choose the taco except if you are towing significantly (weight or distance) or doing long trips with multiple people, then I’d take the tundra.

either one is super reliable and will last a long time

Do NOT get a Tundra. Buyers remorse in 2021 , 2022 when its all brand new.
    That's a 60 000 dollar mistake IMO.

I thought that’s what was gonna happen if I bought a second gen Tacoma in 2015... but instead got a 16 with automatic..

being a Guinea pig on a new drivetrain isn’t something I’m interested in doing again so I got a 19 tundra before the new experiment in 21/22

also not sure how you are getting a $60k tundra, my pro was under $50k. You can get models under $40k

they are 2 totally different creatures

be honest about Ur expectations & how U will predominantly use either

    iv had 2 tacos ...................
    4door long bed prerunner v6
    access cab SR i4

no 4x4 did Not need it
liked the 5speed better than 6trans................. roll around mostly in 5th now
    not an issue
towed heavy with both .................some just dont know how to tow
    brake pedal tighter on prerunner
in the woods not good to have tight brakes

Smaller is better as long as it holds and tows what you need it to (including your person) Parking. Cities. Trails. MPG. All better in a Tacoma

Also, better off road features on the taco off roads and pros than the tundra, if that matters to you.

    It's a secret
Truly know the role you intend to use the truck for majority of the time and your ability to drive it effectively then choose accordingly...Hauling, towing, rescue, adventure, office-commuter, errands and small projects, heavy duty work, etc...or, just get what looks prettier to your fancy
