What brand were the ones that failed and how'd they fail? You got pics of them?
Oh boy I'd keep my expectations low of those. Hopefully just a rod end will be no big deal, 555 at least on the ball joints, right? Or also Chinese? Just be aware I

It was more so a sense of imminent failure... when i break hard the steering gets all squirrely and on my way into work today there was a loud pop and I had the steering wheel turned halfway to the left and it was still pulling to the right. Get under it as soon as I park and there's a shit ton of grease all over the driver side lower ball joint.

It was a kit from A1auto.com (so everything is chinese) I bought over a year ago when I first got the truck and before I knew the importance of OEM parts on this truck. I bought a similar kit from them for the missus 01 toyota corolla and has held up fine for that same time frame

I know the corolla is entirely different but I had these parts on my shelf and don't have the cash to fork over for OEM at this time... i have no problem redoing this work in 6 months when i can get all the correct parts

Yeah man as long as you're aware. That's really the only issue ever I feel, when folks aren't aware of possibilities. You want everyone to at least have the best info to make their decisions right? Like anything in life I guess

I looked into that since I learned of the LBJ horrors of this truck but I found some thread on here where a guy cut both an OEM and a 555 in half? The quality difference on the inside is enough for me to limp this through and get OEM in a few months.

Trust me guys I'm not wheeling on these chinese POS just trying to make it to work

So the threaded portion is way longer on these chinesium ones .. however the length of the rod from the start of the curve to the end of the threads is the same length... so theoretically it'll be the same amount of turns in, I'll just have more threads on the backside of the jam nut with the new one installed

Or my toe is gunna be majorly fucked and it'll look like the truck @Empty_Lord posted on the rack the other day

I'm alittle worse lmao .. I took out a personal loan to build my credit and buy the taco 2 years ago. At the came time the Credit union gave me a credit card with the highest limit I've ever had (always been shitty with money... they print more of it every day right?!)

I've maxed that card as well as my paypal card on this truck and am still paying the personal loan :anonymous:

But it's so close to being "brand new" again! When it's up to stock standards THEN I can start nodding it for real lmao
