I was in a similar position earlier this year, but decided to sell the frame and start fresh. And yes the buyer was fully informed and aware that the frame was cracked.

Hey man you should try reaching out to Yeti. They may give you a great deal on a newer frame or complete bike. That is if you can prove you were the original owner.

Edit: You are just down the street and that may help.

 

I did reach out to them to see if they can ensure if a repair is even possible and if done right, the bike with be structurally fine. Unfortunately, I just bought this bike from the original owner about 2 years ago... I guess we'll see what happens!

Most times a good carbon repair is more reliable than original. Kinda like a broken bone. If you need some recs in the area shoot me a message.

As for the brake, too hard to diagnose. Seals, cylinders, lines... I’d just get a new set...

Yep I used slotted T nuts in the bed to mount that, seems pretty solid

 

There are some trail closures at Kingdom. There was a bunch of news about it over the winter, but as Covid ramped up, it kind of disappeared from the news. Trailforks shows the areas that are closed.

They have some covid info on their site: https://www.kingdomtrails.org/covid-19-faqs If you click the eligible counties link, it looks they are asking people from the Pittsburgh area to not ride there (depending on which county you live in). You're also supposed to buy a membership to ride there.

Other than that, there are plenty of great breweries in Vermont that you can hit along the way.

 

Is rotating rotors a thing? Going over my bike before my trip to the bike park Monday and noticed my rear rotor is worn. It's still stopping but it could probably stand to be replaced. Unfortunately, a new rear rotor won't come in on time. So I was thinking of putting the front rotor on the rear and vice versa just until the new rotor comes in. Is that a viable temporary fix or nah?

 

If the rear is worse/more worn, why would you put it on the front? Wouldnt you want the better stopping rotor on the front?

 

I have a terrible habit of riding my rear brakes more than my front. I can go an entire ride and not touch my front brakes. Really terrible habit from my BMX days.

 

And you are able to stop at a Bike Park? My front brake probably does 80% of the work on the elevation I'm used to, just the rear brake wouldn't cut it.

 

man when I first started biking, with 0 knowledge whatsoever....I was terrified of the front brake. as a kid you pretty well always learned not to use it unless you were doing something stupid, so I just avoided it so I wouldn't go OTB on the trails. then when I got my newer bike and started playing with it and learning how to feather that front brake, WORLD OF DIFFERENCE. back brake is great, but just it alone is full skid territory on techy terrain

Well, I'd recommend you consider relearning to use your front brake. I think you'll find its
