I figured the res. may be the issue; same part numbers for non-res. coilovers between both vehicles.

Nope the 3 holes on top are clocked something like 15 degrees differently

so the solid aluminum top hat thing coilovers use has to be 4 runner or tacoma specific because theres only soo much misalignment heims can take

any other shock you just rotate the top hat the right way before releasing the spring because they can rotate 360 degrees on the shock rod

5100s are the easiest, just stick a screwdriver in the shock bushing and rotate once assymbled and bolted onto the frame cause the spring perch and shock are seperate so you can turn the shock without the spring and top hat moving

 

Always traded mine for the bacon whenever someone got it; never cared for the jalapeño as much.

Since you had asked; I get everything pristine before getting it together.

Here's the clutch pawl assembly



Hub cover dial assembly on bottom left; new o ring and gasket



Inner hub and spacer installed in hub body; that snap ring is a pain in the ass



All assembled



I only put one together seeing as how the detent spring on the other manual hub was broken. Ordered one from Yotamasters

 

That stuff is therapeutic

I still need to find bare spindles to press new bearings and my manual wheel hub thingy

 

Disassembling and cleaning guns does the same for me; since I haven't been shooting for some time, manual hubs will have to do

 

Oh they're super easy.

It's just a bit of a pain getting them all cleaned up, especially if the o ring failed and the grease inside is contaminated.

Only parts you can media blast are the hub cover and dial which I get done so I can paint them.

You can use Prerunner spindles as well since they're identical to 4x4 spindles; you'll just use your own axle hub to make it work with the manual cv axles.

Only difference you'll find is some have the tab for abs whereas others don't.

 

I thought using snap rings were impossible till I realized I was using the wrong pliers.

You’ve got snap ring pliers for snap rings with holes in them, you’re supposed to use Lock Ring Pliers.

If I dont have an ABS idiot light then I don't have ABS correct? While I was changing ball joints today I didn't see a sensor... but then again I wasn't looking

Wow, that’s pretty bad. I’ve seen FAR more intact ones come up here.

 

That was with a 250 mile radius picked from my zip code lol I usually check every 2 or 3 days and nothing comes up... or it's always a 2wd if it does

 

Oh the trucks that pop up here are always 5-lugs. But every now and then a 4WD will appear. Rare though.
