That's just the sun reflecting off the reflectors on the lights. We need night time pics for proof!

In my opinion, I still think the design could benefit from just two more tubes. Both for strength and appearance.

    upload_2020-7-10_8-36-17.jpg

Make them the exact angle as the grill surround sides, and line them up with that on center.

Later, if you decide you do need a hoop, it could be an extension of those and follow that same angle and outline.

    upload_2020-7-10_9-8-57.jpg

Are you breaking from your original design and starting to look similar bumpers? Yup.
Does that really matter since you created this from the ground up? Nope.

That actually looks pretty good. The kicker is it's not an easy addition per say. Getting that tube notched would take me a really long time. I may tackle it next week because it'll give me practice, but we'll see.

yea, you're going to have to notch the top and bottom, and they will have to be at different rotations/angles, and you are going to scratch the hell out of the top/bottom bars sliding them into place, and you're going to have to remove the bumper to weld them, and you're going to have to disconnect the lights, and and and..............

Stop making excuses. You freaking cut 14" of length outta the truck for fucks sake!! Hell for that matter, you caught it on fire once!!! None of that has stopped you. I still think if you got some of that pipe insulation
    upload_2020-7-10_10-53-47.jpg
from home depot or lowes you could use a dremmel to make the notches until they were perfect then use those to transfer the outlines to your scrap tube. Lock them into a vise and use a hole saw. And I wouldn't go with a smaller hole and grind away material, I would go the exact size and then grind away some material to clean it up.

Thanks guys. I actually did this in Microsoft Word.

See the difference is I wanted to do all that nonsense. This, I don't really want to. I may add a hoop, but if I do, it's only going to be tall enough to go over the top of the lights. And I'll clock it forward a little it so it's the farthest forward point on the bumper to protect the lights. As of now, if I drive straight into a wall, the lights will be the first thing to hit which would be an expensive boo boo.

I would only do the hoop as a last resort. Like you said, one time will be too many if you hit those lights. You will kick yourself. Remember my bumper mounted 32" light bar mount thingy I had? The only damage to that light bar was to about 3" of the frame trim that holds the plexiglass in.

But I would most definitely do the two lower angled tubes. It needs those. Those triangle areas are just too damn big/wide. Again, my unsolicited, and UNBIASED opinion.

If you want to be different, add small, unique gussets to all the verticals and corners of the tubes.
