Stepping out the other day and noticed I had a slight “lean” but it was on the passenger side, not drivers side. Any idea what could cause this?

Well first things first, check tire pressures,, I know dumb statement, but be sure.. Next check the right rear leaf spring and shackles. If all looks OK go up to the front and check coil spring..Make sure ground is level ?? Let us know !

Sorry for the dumb question - but what exactly would I be looking for? I'm not one who has a lot of knowledge on vehicles and their workings. I thought about bringing it to a shop to have it be looked at but if I can identify something by looking i'd prefer to go that route.

Look at the left side spring and shackle see if it all looks the same as the right side. Do the same with the right front coil spring, let me know what you see !!! If any spring or coil is broken or shackle is bent you found your problem..

Nothing really seems to different from what I can see. Right side should be first pic

Compare everything suspension related to the other side. Spot the not. Break out the tape measure even.

I suggest measuring the height of both sides using a tape measure as opposed to just eyeing it. Also, at the risk of asking the obvious, did you check it again on level ground and with nothing heavy inside? How much gasoline was in the tank? Just throwing things out there.

Ck where the leaf springs are joined together at the axle. make sure there are no cracks in any of the leafs. Did u try moving the truck to known true flat surface to be 100 % sure ground is not the problem ???

My knee jerk is to say it's just uneven ground because you are in a dirt parking lot after all. Even if it looks level, it probably isn't. I would go to a level, paved area and see if it's still leaning.

Or if the truck is still in the same spot, 180 it and see if it's the same

    ...stuff
agreed. Pull it in to a garage or parking structure to see if the lean is still there. Gas stations are usually a good option but not perfect. Measure center of hub straight up to fender on either side and compare measurements.

Ditto. If the OP doesnt have "knowledge on vehicles and their workings" checking the vehicle on a level ground would be the easiest place to start for the OP.

After verifying your tire pressures are correct and a visual check for something obvious, get a tape measure and go from a flat part of the frame under maybe the side mirror measure to the ground. Do the same on both sides then measure from the pinch weld of the body to the ground. Subtract your frame measurements from the body measurements. Write that all down

What you're looking for the opposite sides of those measurements to be similar to each other. So the frame to ground measurement would be dictated by the suspension integrity. The body to ground measurement would be to check the body mount integrity. If your frame to ground measurements are close to the same on both sides but your body to ground is a larger difference, I'd be checking body mounts. If it's vice versa then i'd be investigating suspension components.

If that checks out and you go for the rear I would just check from bump stop mount plate on the leafs to bump stop strike mount or the frame about it to check the rear suspension... typically boxes aren't mounted with bushings between them so either you'd see the boxed visibly dented inside or you'd probably notice the body sides don't line up between the box and cab. However some vehicles aren't lined up too well from the factory so I would recommend measuring.

Edit: you may also want to repeat the body/frame measurement at different locations like under the rad support and near each body mount. May narrow things down if you're not sure what a collapsed body mount looks like
