It’s quite the drive, and my schedule is up in the air, but I haven’t been to Rush yet.
I’m a weak maybe, but it’s going on the calendar.

That thing is way too pretty and he put in too much detail time to bring it to Rush. But I've never met Q and I'd like to!

Definitely a couple weekends coming up that will be committed to the truck. Fitment for 35s, install snorkel, figure out rear leaf/weight load.

    MOD DAY!!

Its Freddie 4Runner, after Freddie Mercury. (The front bumper looked like an over/under bite.) Plus, this was the wife's vehicle and she named it Fiona, so now that it is mine, there needs to be somewhat of a "reverse Bruce Jenner" that happens and it will have to happen in stages.

Eventually, he may be named Frank.

Freddie is, not trail ready. Currently, he makes his way through our very small wooded areas fine and handles the short trips that I make to town well.

However, before I stuff this thing in the woods 6 hours away from home and tools, I need to run down some safety and maintenance checks.

Since this 4Runner is damn near stock, I need to check/replace the following:

Rear trailing arms need to be replaced with adjustable or brackets welded in to lower them so they dont bind in off-camber situations.

Body mounts and bushings need replaced

Sway bar needs removed (this was supposed to happen when I had the suspension installed, but they forgot to remove it and simply replaced all the sway bar end links in the front and rear.........

    Winch

    Radiator

    Add trans cooler

Spare parts, CV's, bearings, u-joints, etc. You know...all the shit you wish you didnt have to bring along.

    Dual battery

    Full size spare

Have the transmission properly flushed and refilled

    Lower ball joints replaced

Upper control arms replaced (aftermarket for the 'gram dawg)

    Headlights need retrofitted

All additional lighting needs to either be replaced or installed (some still needs purchased)

I need to get a 2 person tent because my 10 person teepee is just too damn big.

Other than that, it is cosmetic or major parts replacement (rear bumper, roof rack, etc.) Not this year fellas. I'm hoping to make it next year if I'm still walking around this here ball of rock, dirt and water.

Its not too pretty. Got some nice pinstripes on it. Of course, I can remove them quite easily, but.

I'm just trying to get Freddie up to a standard of reliability that keeps my anxiety at bay. I have some concerns about the transmission, albeit early if there are problems.

I keep my shit pretty 'cause my great grandma always said, "it isn't WHAT you have, it's how you take care of it."

Ol Freddie looks good for a 20 year old vehicle, because its been babied. Imma still baby it, but he is going to see more than pavement from now on.

    @Roll Tide

If your truck isn't ready this year, you can ride shotgun with someone if you go this year. Up to you.

Tammy Tacoma was a wonderful beast of a whore.

HOWEVER. She was just too small for the family, she was too underpowered and also a 5 speed.

This made it to where I was the only person that could drive it in our family. So, she sat and sat, and sat, and sat, and honestly, needed just as much, if not more love to get going well.

Freddie is 4 door, V6 and has damn near no rust anywhere. (tiny bit on the rockers....gonna take care of that too.)

I really like this option. Although I am a really shitty spectator (because I'd much rather be doing it than watching), riding along may provide some insight to other mods for the future.

    I'll consider it.

Another issue is that I am now the sole sales rep at my company. I have taken on a metric shit ton of new accounts and typically return home feeling like I just got bent over by a 300 pound woman named Bertha who shouts obscenities at me while I beg for mercy. Cigarette dangling from her lips and she does that weird chuckle when I scream out in pain.

I know the feeling.. I want to drive off road but I probably ride with someone first then I take my truck out to the trails. That way, I get the ideas from the drivers and spotters.

Mine is mostly stock, too. A few aftermarket items such as headlights, etc.
