Good data. Thank you. Did you keep the stock exhaust?

    No problem!

When I installed the Header I also replaced the cats with Magnaflow high flow cats. The muffler and exhaust tubing from the original muffler to the exhaust tip are still original.

I’m sure that having the high flow cats combined with the Header made a bigger difference than it would have if I had just done the Header, but, after 255,000 miles it was time for a few replacements. Haha.

I can’t tell from your profile picture if those are still stock sized tires on your truck, but if those are, I bet you would notice a pretty good difference with the LCE Header. Keep in mind that my truck is running slightly oversized tires and is lifted 3-4 inches, and wears a heavy ARB bumper up front. Your truck would likely see a really good increase in performance with the Header.

You are correct!! Thanks for the info. 62,600 on my 2014 so not due for a CAT yet. The high flowCAT also probably contributes a bit to the extra exhaust noise.

You’ll get a great many enjoyable, reliable miles out of your awesome truck. These things just keep on going with even the most basic maintenance. At 62,600 miles she’s just a puppy still!

Your Tacoma looks AMAZING in person! I saw you a couple times last week in Topsham, I was driving my black reg cab with an LED bar and a CB antenna, Idk if you noticed but I lit up the bar a couple times to try to get your attention!

I'll try to do so! I know there's a 5 lugger in Harpswell on alloys. And a red single cab in the Highlands. Have you seen the black reg cab around Brunswick with the 6" lift and the CAT sticker on the back window? It looks awesome

New to TW! Thought I’d share my 07 reg cab taco. Toughest truck I’ve ever owned, and spends all it’s time in the mountains. Also, I’ve been getting ideas from this thread for quite awhile, thanks for that still can’t find bucket seats.

Welcome to TW! I’ve been sifting the idea of seat swapping my truck since I drove it home new, in 2007. Some days I like my bench seat, other days I don’t. A few years ago I purchased Wet Okole seat covers and the extra padding and comfort they added stymied my desire for buckets, but the itch returned about a month ago. Then I put spacers under the front brackets/posts of the seat, and cut the recline wheels on the driver and passenger sides, and that was awesome. Having thigh support and a reclining seat back is great. There’s a thread on TW that outlines the super easy steps. Doing everything took less than half and hour.

There is one unfortunate side effect of being able to recline your seat back if you are tall — and that is having to scootch the seat forward a little bit to actually have room against the back of the cab to recline.

I’ve gotten used to it now, and it isn’t a big deal.

I'm 6ft and have same seat position in my rc as i did in my ac.....and that is with having dc storage bins behind the seats. seats are thicker sr5 ones as well. if barefooted i actually have to stretch a bit to fully depress clutch to floor to start truck. also used the 1" spacers under back of seat mounts and that helps things too....and this is with having the thick wet okole seat covers. as was said, buckets in rc should be doable for most folks.

I appreciate the ideas, but after reading about corbeau seats on here I couldn’t resist. They were expensive so hopefully it was worth it! I guess if they don’t fit I’ll still have the ol bench to try something out. In my area I can’t find a decent used bucket seat anywhere

Had to pull the boat out of the water to work on the motor. The voltage regulator/rectifier went bad and took out the battery with it. With tropical storm Fay hitting us today with some heavy rain, I didn't want to leave the boat in the river if it came up fast and the boat needed to be moved quickly.

I’m sorry if I’m just missing something here, but, when you say that you also raised the back of your seat up an inch, is this in equal proportion to the front?

And if so, do you find that having your seat higher from the floor made the overall seating position more comfortable?

I went and looked at my truck seat, and with my seat back reclined in its new position there’s no way I can have the bench seat all the way pushed back up against the back of the cab. Therefore I’m forced to move the seat forward a little bit. However, it looks like maybe if the whole bench seat was higher from the floor, then the “curve” of the seat back would fall in such a way that I could have the whole bench seat all the way back. That would certainly solve all problems, being able to fully stretch out my legs.

I don’t know that I explained that well enough.
