Warning to others so they dont make same mistake.

Got a foglight kit from x3racing (they also trade as SprinterPower) on ebay motors. Their add claims to include all necessary hardware to do a complete installation.

The kit they sold me was missing the necessary adjustment screw assembly required to secure the lights in place.

Whe I contacted their customer support manager, they finally agreed that their kit was missing parts (thanks to the photos I got from this thread). When I asked them to send me replacement parts, they offered to refund my $94.00 if I returned the entire kit. Since I have 5 hours labor invested in doing a professional looking job running all the wires, etc.. I told them I only wanted to return the defective parts for replacement. They told me that no replacement was available and if I returned the defective lights & wanted to keep the rest of the (allready installed) kit, they would be willing to send me a $20.00 refund.

    Bottom line - shop elseware!!!

I bought the same lights from x3racing. I have the same problem. At least I haven't done the wiring, so I will be contacting them for a refund.

I would be willing to sell you the k2 kit with the harness-still in package for around $70.
Then you would just need to return the switch to get your money back. If you are interested I can send you a pic of the harness to see if it looks close.

Also- Just listed on ebay a guy is selling a set of stock fog light housings with adjusters for starting bid of $15

Not sure who I got mine from but x3racing sounds familiar but all hardware was included when I got mine. Had them for over a year or so but who knows, something may have changed. I'd be asking seller questions about it before purchasing if this is problem nowadays tho. Make sure they come with adjusters before bidding/purchasing. Switch still sucked that comes with kit - toss and use oem switch. These are still better than 400.00 for oem from dealer.

Thanks for the follow up. They do look pretty beat up and the one on the left looks like it might have leaked.

Do you remember if the adjustment screw mechinism is designed in a way that it can be removed from the housing and reused on another housing?

Regarding your K2 kit, is it the complete kit with bulbs, housings, etc..? A pic of the harness connector to the light housing will probably help me confirm that the K2 housings and mine are interchangeable. If not, I could probably splice the K2 housing connections to my wires and use the K2 housings and bulbs. How do you want to conduct the sale?

I think that the stock fog light screws should just unscrew from the housings- the k2 ones definitely do. I am not sure if the thread is identical between the two units though. If you are really concerned, I will pull the stock ones out of the bumper this weekend and compare.

Here is a pic of the k2 kit complete. I noticed that the harness does not have corrugated split loom like some of the others do (cheap). The switch does not work straight out of the box. I had it installed for about 100 miles using a stock Toyota Relay and Switch. It works good- the beam pattern is not quite as concentrated as the stock fogs. Fitment in the the truck was excellent. Look almost identical to the stock fogs, but the lenses are not quite as thick and they say SAE FOO on them instead of Toyota.

All of the fog light kits use the same connector- attaches to an H10 bulb

If you are still interested, I guess we could do a PayPal transaction- I am going down to Washington next week (when my stainless brake lines arrive), so I could ship from there to save costs.[IMG]

I took the stock fog light out of my bumper and compared the adjustment screw to the aftermarket one.

The stock Toyota screw is removable- but it is narrower than the aftermarket K2 screw. It did fit in the aftermarket housing, but it was a little sloppy (threads were biting, but a little loose). However, it looks like the entire thread mount assembly could be removed with some needle nose pliers. In your pictures you have the part I am talking about- it is a plastic fitting that fits into the square hole in the base of the fog light. If you swapped over the whole assembly the threads would not matter.

Re the ebay fog lights- hard to say if they are just dirty or beat up.

84 Hilux - Thanks for all of your assistance. Greatly appreciated. What should have been a very simple install (thanks to all the info in this thread) has turned in a royal pain in the rear.

In regards to buying your K2 kit, I'm kinda stuck in limbo right now working through ebay's buyer protection program trying to get x3racing to send me replacement parts. x3racing is still wanting me to uninstall the entire kit and return for refund. With ebay involved, maybe they will do the right thing and send me replacement housings - so I am stuck waiting.

Note to all: X3racing is still selling their kit on ebay so you may want to contact them before purchasing to ensure you don't get defective housings.

Thanks again (to you and others) who offered assistance, pics, etc.

The whole situation you are in sucks. The vendor screwed you over and won't make good on it.:(

Best of luck in finding a resolution.

I know it has been a while since someone has posted on this thread....but......I just ordered my Ebay fog light kit. I went with a yellow kit, not sure how it will look but I saw some pics of trucks with yellow lights and they seemed cool. I'm sure this thread will make the install a snap, you guys are the best, thanks for the info!

I got my fog light kit from ebay (seller is x3racing) and have run into a snag with the Add-A-Circuit that's been mentioned in this thread.

I bought the mini-fuse Add-A-Circuit, and while working on the installation discovered that my truck uses a smaller fuse. I quickly attempted to see if the mini add-a-circuit would fit but it didn't seem to so I returned it.

After doing some additional research, I discovered these are "low-profile" mini fuses. It appears that the mini fuses can be used as replacements to these low-profile ones, and therefore the mini add-a-circuit I had should work.

    Can someone confirm?

Yep, the mini add-a-circuits work with the low profile mini fuses. That is what I used.

Special thanks to epa4wd and all contributing members :D Because of this thread i was able to install my ebay fogs with ease. I also added a HID kit during the install. Here are some pictures.

The HID kit for the fog lights is super bright so do not intend on driving with them on. Only when needed.

Now its time to find a OEM switch that doesn't cost a arm and leg.
