Definitely going to keep an eye on that thread. My local Golds closed last August and I switched to the garage gym then, so the "shutdown" didn't really impact my workouts. I have been wanting to buy more dumbbells though. Unfortunately people are still asking $3-4/lb. And the price is always firm "because that's what I paid 2 months ago." Hopefully they realize they will never sell at that price now that gyms are re-opening and I can score some good deals.

I priced out rep rubber hex dumbells and a 5-100 was about $2800. $550 of that was shipping from Denver to MD.

I can't do math all that well but that sounds like a good deal. Rogue has 90s, 95s and 100s in stock right now for $1.25/lb but shipping is $160-180 a set so that kills that deal.

It’s pretty good. York barbell is 45min from me and it’s about the same price from them for the set. I like that rep has the straight knurled handled though.

It's less than 2 hours from me. I might have to take a trip up to the outlet once everything opens back up.

I am not too picky about handles. Given a choice, I think I like the handles that bulge in the middle better though. I think it's a more comfortable grip for these wide meat hooks I've got.

Dumbbells are really what i'm after these days. I have a squat cage with pull up bar. Barbell. Approx 500 lbs of bumper plates. Lat pulldown tower with the low row attachment. Older Concept 2 rower and Schwinn Airdyne. Plus an 80lb heavy bag for cardio and to revisit my muay thai roots. But dumbbells i'm suffering. Got old york loadable up to 15 lbs each handle. then 20's, 25's, a 30, 45's, and a 55.
Plenty to keep my growing and progressing but not everything I want. Its like my truck, its never done or complete.

Indeed, I know he's not worried about his average mile runtime. Not sure if it was Tom Platz or Paul Demayo but remember an old Flex magazine article where a few tried sprinting some 100 yard dash times and they all failed due to severe cramps and muscle pulls.

Everything is stupid expensive right now. The place where I got a lot of my equipment used to be really reasonable on prices. I got a lot of kettle bells and bumper plates for $1/lb or $1.50/lb back in like 2017. Now they charge $3/lb. THATS $135 FOR A SINGLE 45LB BUMPER . Absolutely insane. I bought 365lbs of bumpers from Rogue for less than $2/lb. This is NOT the time to buying gym equipment
