My only gripe is when it is closed it sits a lot taller than the SkyLux. But quite a bit cheaper so it’s tough

I plan to have a hardtop before next summer, I see it’s 1900 where as the others I have looked at seem to be 3k plus. Why is this one so cheap?

Im not exactly sure why but, my guess would be they didn’t focus on making it a very slim packing tent like the Ikamper or Skylux? I am interested in seeing a review of it when it goes into full production.

    Correct. It’s tall.
    Plus
just from their website..... cheap latches, no anti condensation mat, no thicker mattress with modifications to make folding easier, no star gazing window, bigger/thicker ugly shell, gloss shell which scratch easily, no straps on the side to make folding the tent in easier, no accessory add ons like awning, insulated liner, 25lbs heavier, lesser quality fabric specs, no accessory / shoe bags.

I’d spend the extra for all those things.

I agree, I‘m storing up the tears, for the cry when it’s time. When I purchase, I want the right one, not keep adding shit.

Thanks for sharing, I’m still in the gathering phase, I still need to sit down with the wife and make our must haves list. I believe a hard shell is my first must.

damn I have a lot of researching to do.

need a tent for me and my 2.75yo daughter to go camping this fall.

need something with mosquito protection and a reasonable price.

I’m dumping all my money on an Alu-Cab canopy to mount a rtt on.

Anyone have experience with the Smittybilt Gen2 overlander tent? Seems to fit what I need, but not a whole lot of reviews out there.
