Simple 3rd Gen Changes

I’ve seen some photos of the black Tacoma and 4x4 pieces to cover the chrome.
I’ve also seen some of photos of the emblems being taken completely off.
Is it messy to take them completely off? Need anything like the “Goo-off” stuff to clean it up?
Just figured I’d ask before I go messing around and ruin it!

 

I removed my trd off-road decal and the emblems using a hairdryer and credit card to gently lift the badge off of the adhesive (others use fishing line)

then I just used spray wax to remove the adhesive and it came right off

I used this stuff to remove the decals. Works so much better than goo-gone. Also takes tree wax off no problem.

 

All the hardware stores are closed right now, I actually ended up using coconut oil to get the adhesive from the dealer sticker which was still stuck on the tailgate. Came right off.

 

you can skip the chemicals and do it clean and dry with no fumes. i used this to remove the big nasty Pro side badges. that thick black layer of adhesive rolled up like bubblegum and came off in a chunk in about 10 seconds and that was it, not even any touch-up.

Thats stuff is expensive!

 

I had one of these when I pulled my bumper guards on my old Silverado. Idk what happened to it works great!

 

I just had it around the house!

 

Took all my chrome tags/badges off with dental floss on a hot day and used goo gone to get the excess 3m tape off. Then cleaned area with soap and water.

 

next on my list

 

I removed all my badges and love the sleek and clean look! I used goof off or goo gone not sure.

 

x2 on that eraser wheel for adhesives that are totally gummed on. Only downside is the price. If I remember correctly, those heads are nearly $40 (maybe more), which is a bit ridiculous.

 

You guys have convinced me. I’m gonna take them off
It’s free, unlike the $30 to get the black over lays.
Might get the black letter inserts for the tailgate too
