    I had a couple Outbacks that I loved, but I am not impressed with newer Subarus. A friend has a 2018 Forester XT Touring and the thing is like riding in a tin can with plywood seats. He has had an AC compressor fail and some brake issues inside of 30k too. It has loads of road noise and is extremely uncomfortable. Same person sent me this photo of his relative's 2011 Legacy with 70k on it. She complained it was handling very poorly all of a sudden and they found this. Apparently while looking at that they realized the shocks are all about ready to rot through and some other rust related issues.

    The difference between the 2018 Forester and 2019 Forester is night and day. My Mom ended up trading her 2015 for a 2019 (the math ended up working out for what she wanted to do) and the road noise and seat comfort are vastly improved in 2019, I must say.

    Subaru has had rust issues for years. The 02-07 Impreza/WRX wagons were known for rotting through their rear shock towers. I still want another WRX/STi, but I'm sick like that.
