Just paid $45,000CAD ($33,100USD) for a 2020 TRD Sport Premium 6MT Double Cab. This was with all weather floor liners and TRD Pro ski plate thrown in. Also had them cut their documentation fee in half. They wouldn't waive it completely and I didn't care enough to push it further as they had very little in stock due to COVID.

That's a decent deal as well, and I'm partial to Cement. :D

Not tied to either OR or Sport? Or specific packages? That Sport has the LED upgrades, which is nice and at least a bit more modern. The deal is decent if you are ok with it, but I'd say it isn't ground-breaking enough if you really wanted specific trims, packages, or options and had to compromise.

Biggest problem with buying out a lease is your payment goes way up on an aging vehicle heading out of warranty. That isnt much of a concern on a Tacoma but it will be tempting to just get another new one rather than have your payment go up significantly. It is cheaper to finance at the beginning rather than lease then finance after.

Hey Sir, thank your for the taking the time, i bought a Off road last year and to be honest i didn't went off road once so i won't be tie to the OR trim. I like the cement one better than the black. I ask him about the 1000$ cash back and he sais that was applied yo the price already.

That's bad that they are already including the rebate. I hate that! Especially since you could go with the APR instead of the rebate, so they shouldn't include it. But I suppose it makes their price sound better so they always slip it in... shady if you ask me. At least they should have told you that up front that the price they gave you included the rebate, rather than you having to ask them before they admit it. That puts you at 39k / 41.5k and only about 6% discount before rebate, which is really not very good, if you ask me. I'd ask to get it to at least 38k BEFORE the rebate, especially if you are going to have to add the cost of travel to go get it.

As for OR vs. Sport, I'm doing the opposite. I have the Sport now, but the suspension is a little stiffer than I want for everyday driving with a family. If it is just me I don't mind, but gets rough on the kids and wife. So I'm switching to the OR and figure it will be nice to get the locker and such as well. Might help occasionally in our snowy winters too. I don't off-road really either, but it was more about that then the idea of being a big overlander or something. If you are going to do that, you'll probably be modding it a lot more anyway! I will miss my skewp though!

Here in socal inventory has diminished greatly. Most Tacomas are going for MSRP, not a penny less. Even used prices are ridiculous.

It's a good time for me then! Since I already pre-negotiated my buying price that is set. And now my trade in value has gone up a couple thousand from even just a month or so ago, according to kbb. As long as the used prices stay high for another week or two, it should work out in my favor. Makes me feel a bit better about missing the $2000 rebate/0% APR deal that I had to watch come and go.

I guess it depends upon your situation. If you can wait 2-3 months to save $1-$2000 then you should. My friend needs a truck to pull a boat this summer so he will be biting the high price bullet. The deal you are being offered is better than most are currently being offered and close to a good deal in regular times. Really depends upon how much you value saving some money compared to having one now. You’re definitely not getting ripped off though. Good luck

I wonder how many people have considered looking at the Tundra (new or used) given the Tacoma shortage. I understand they are completely different trucks but there are people who are right on the line ... prefer the size of the Tacoma and don't really need a Tundra but could live with it. Of course, that assumes Tundras are not in short supply as well. Again, I understand they are different trucks but curious if anyone is looking at moving to Tundra given the current situation.

I still have the original sticker I believe. I'll post it as soon as I find it.

I think so as I was looking for 2-3 months prior as was going to consider buying a used 2017-2019 Tacoma. However the pricing was insane for a used tacoma. I mean today many used tacomas are selling for just about what I paid for my new tacoma sport. Since there was literally $2000-3000 difference from the used to a new tacoma, I thought to hell with it might as well buy a new one. Now it appears the market has change for the worse for buyers I mean. late model Used tacomas have gone up several thousand more, and if you want a new tacoma you all but have to pay full msrp or more.

It is crazy right? The demand is there. Too bad Toyota couldn't boost production and combine both Mexico and San Antonio. I know they can't do that flexibly but I wonder if they even considered it. On another note, the dealer that I bought my Tacoma at asked me if I was interested in a Tundra (I am for a different work truck, possibly). Look at the pricing on this -- deep discount and Toyota is offering a $2,500 rebate:

Interesting. Several dealers in NY have 5 to 7 on their lots and those same dealers have either none, 1 or 2 Tacomas.
