What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

It's made by Mobtown Offroad. I had been thinking for months about getting it, but didn't want to wait for the lead times. Then a local tw member on here wanted to get rid of his for free with trade of a stock one. So we traded this morning on my way to work

 

Thanks Chris. I've always thought the cab was loud with tire, road, and exhaust noise. It has quieted it down a lot, but will be much quieter when I get the rear doors and cab panel done since I hear more noise from the rear anyway

 

Technically it be smaller payment too!

 

I tapped into the cigarette lighter. I never use it.

 

That’s where I would do it but I have a switch panel that is daisy chained and the switched power will go to the accessory fuse.

Today I sound deadened the back of my rear seat with a full 18" x 32" sheet of 3 layer sound deadener. I figured because it's up against the subwoofers that this would be a good spot. I did remove the seat back and wanted to put it on the inside of that plastic panel but, Its not a smooth flat surface so if the outside was the only option.

 

Fuse block & Headlights went in today

 

Pulled my roof rack off, also found a new sticker to put on my hard hat!

gear swapped to 4.88 using assembled third member and front diff from @ECGS ! By far my favorite mod on the pickup. Really helps the 2.7 turn 33’s.

now for the painstaking break in, so I can romp on it soon!

Edit: almost forgot to mention the Detroit true-trac in the rear! Will be fun come hunting season

 

Almost the price of the relentless bumper lol. I’m gonna cry once, but it’s a longggggg cry.

 

I installed my used head unit finally. I moved the useless clock, the useless security light, the airbag light, and got half way done moving the emergency flasher switch (to the right of the 1/2 installed rear camera switch). I added 2 USB ports to the left of the steering column and they had a built in volt gauge. I also added a USB port under the head unit and a storage pocket.

I would have completed the project but I kept getting interrupted all day. Some interruptions are ok though, like my first grandchild being born.

I haven't tuned anything per se but I did play with the bass knob and the volume control. Sounds really good, I can't wait to hear it after I have tuned it.

Yup resistant. Not waterproof at all, I put tools and my recovery boards up there. Everything took related is in a ziploc

What cover should I buy?
How bad is outside storage compared to inside?
If I put the truck on jacks does that mess with the suspension?

The electrical tape is the best part of the entire truck. Should have went Ridgeline like my coast guard buddies. They regret nothing.

 

I see you got the tape color matched to the truck. You really have an eye for detail.
