you may have a lot of salt but the type of salt they dump on the roads in upstate NY should be classified as an acid lol it really is nasty stuff and there literally could be a flake of snow and then here comes the trucks dumping the crap everywhere!

I'm just messing with Dave. We likely use a minimum amount here. We've been lucky the past couple of years. Minimal snow fall the past couple of years. But the flagrantly misuse the salt here. I would need both hands to count how many times they applied the brine without cause. But I have heard the brine is worse than salt.

Chopped my truck tonight- hoping it’s straight, level and I cut enough, but not too much.

Should be mounting it tomorrow, but I have a 2nd gen and swingouts. I can snap some pictures with the arms off

i think the consensus is angle grinder. use a cutoff wheel and then clean up with a flap.

Better yet, Jerry cuts are the best!

When I cut my bedsides initially, I drank 3 Coors lites and took a stab at it. They looked like sloth shit. I didn’t care as I’m practically blind anyways. Then, when Jerry said “ hey, let’s look at that rear”, he shook his head and fixed it. I rocked those crappy cut bedsides for almost two years with another manufacturers bumper underneath them. Only when I got a BAMF rear did it get cleaned up. Jerry has a keen eye for detail. I’m sure he didn’t want my shitty job reppin over his bumper.

i was stone sober. i read 1000 TW posts. i was ready.

i put some shit on my culo this evening. sucks the propane take has to be inside the jerry, but the latch on the mount is on the right so i can't put it on the other side.

Sunday evening = truck washing time

i make no promises for this method. my truck is uneven and so is the spot where i cut. to try and get a true cut line i took the angle on the bedside (measured on bedside above the cut line) and matched it to a point coming from 1/4" under the break light. i think you could go 5/16 or even 1/2.

I used an air saw with really good success for around the wheel wells, but I didn’t trust myself to cut perfectly straight with one...

I used these as I already had them: https://www.mcmaster.com/3793A4/

Slow going, but completely dummy proof

For the wheel wells I used a Bosch electric nibbler. It was so simple and easy I hated myself for spending 45 minutes with a hand nibbler on the first fender. A neighboring shop owner just happened to have it handy.
