I read the latest health order for Santa Clara County. There are 10 pages of shit a business must swear they are doing. From signs on the floor to cages around employees, to cages to separate job functions...and then you can rat someone out to the county.

I see a lot of Nextdoor Karens complaining about violations. It's sad-if you have a beef, deal with it.

Upper management is quite transparent. We get a weekly email about any pending testing. No names or departments, just a friendly heads up to keep our shit in line if we want to continue to make and sell things.

The company president was taking to some people on lunch break, all sitting at the same picnic bench. He asked them if they would be sitting there if they knew that one of the others at the table was infected. Everyone said hell no. We have some basic safeguards in place; temp taking at the beginning and middle to end of the shift, staggered schedules, etc But those won’t alert us to an asymptomatic carrier.

And that percentage is far larger then the percentage of people that have tested positive for COVID. We won't truly know how many people have had it until widespread anti-body testing is done.

We have a mostly Hispanic workforce and many are 55+. In a niche business with special processes, the potential for a shit storm is real.

The lack of common decency frustrates me. I have to stop before I catch a ban.

If you have such a workforce, aren’t you looking to prepare the next generation? I only ask because it’s hard to keep the niche business going with or without the continuity plan. Best to have some manpower ready to step up and keep things going as the old guys move on.

Some flags and center console divider... lots of things on the wanted list.
Up here in woodland, majority of cases are from the Hispanic community. But that seems to be normal in a lot of our smaller comminutes. They aren't taking the extreme precautions they should and still having parties. Then again, many of us are...

We have several waves moving up through the ranks. I expect that ~15% will retire in the next 10 years. We have succession plans for everyone from the president down to the line workers. I've seen the business go from ok to booming to wtf happened in my time there. It's a great company to work for and many of the people we have had to lay off over the years come back when business picks up. One guy came back to work grave from a day job because he liked the family atmosphere.

And systematic crosstraining. Everyone is expected to learn all aspects of the process and be profecient to some degree.

    Not the worst.

They just ran a swab around the inside of my nose from maybe 1/4-7/16 up my nostril for a few resolutions. It kinda tickled.

Everyone at the test center was amazingly nice. Same for everyone in line. Everyone was very cool. The line was maybe 35 minutes.

Getting to the final test site took driving 125 miles, waiting in line for an hour and twenty minutes, 3 test sites all together and a total of 4 hours from start to finish.
All in all a pretty chill day.

They said if it’s positive they call you in 3-4 days.
If it’s negative they email you in 5-7 days.
I got an email after 2 days.
    LMAO
And you have to re-submit what action your taking each time new orders come out.
    They aren’t fucking around.
I like the place you work at.

Has anyone had any contact with @RelentlessFab , @RelentlessFabrication ?

Been trying to contact Eric for a couple weeks now. By phone, and email. Nothing. Vacation? Shutdown by the Vid? Voicemail says they are open Monday through Friday.

He posts up on the Reno Area BS thread once a week or so. I got my bumper from them 3 years ago. Even then communication wasn't that great. I'm super happy with the product but I wouldn't exactly say CS was anything but mediocre.

Finally got my truck back. One of the issues I was having was the front skid plate. It took a few pretty good shots over time. Since I was getting transmission work I need to pull the t-case skid, and the mid skid. Decided to pull all three. But could not get the front skid off because the rear most two bolts just spun and spun, with no results. So, when I dropped off the truck for it's periodic maintenance I told them about the problem. Told the guy that theses are factory mounting points and I wanted them see if they could find out why the bolts were spinning, and try to remove the plate. 85 bucks Don. OK, that didn't seem too unreasonable to find the problem.

Ready to leave. No skid plate in the truck. They go find it, and bring it to me. Load it into the bed. I look to find this? WTF? They just cut the damn thing off. WTF? They didn't even call me to say, Hey Don, the bolts are spinning and we can't get access, so we can cut it off. What do you want to do? WTF? So, I said to the service clerk WTF? He just shrugs. Thanks a lot Livermore Toyota. In addition to that, the remanufactured transmission is only warrantied for ONE YEAR.

In addition to that, as I get back to Oakland, and am driving up the street, I'm hearing the same type noises that prompted me to have them look at the transmission in the first place.
