With airplane engines we “pickle” the engine with a special oil to prevent corrosion. Might be overkill for our engines but I would at the very least put new oil in it and put the battery on a tender. You can also pull the plugs and spray some oil in there to help coat the cylinders, although it’ll all run down off the walls relatively fast.

There’s also an oil additive called cam guard you could add to your oil, it thickens it up a little and prevents it from running off metal parts so fast. Not sure if I would run it long term but at least with this oil change then change it back out when you back.

Got it from a dealer in Ontario, Canada that had them on sale for $100 off. Came in around $250 CAD shipped to British Columbia (across the country). There’s a lot more choices when it comes to finding OEM parts in the US so check online for the best deal! 5310004450B1 is the part number.

Received and installed my SOS front recovery bracket. Came bare metal so did like 6 coats of paint both primer and black:

    Compared to stock recovery bracket:

    Bracket installed:

    IMG_2158.jpg

With D-ring attached. I won't keep the D-ring on, just put it on for photo purposes:

    IMG_2159.jpg

    And finally some brand recognition:

    IMG_2160.jpg

Curious, is there a torque spec for the two bolts holding it on? I just used some major muscle to tighten them down but should probably spec them correctly if there is a spec.
