New dirt king LCAs

Got new DK lca’s for my tacoma and they require red loctite. I only have blue and I can’t find any loctite 271. Would blue work? If not I found 2701. I’m in the Middle East so this stuff is hard to find.

North America is 271, Europe is 2701. Not all loctite products are available Worldwide but alternatives exist for each market. Given the composition of some loctite products they cannot even be shipped around the world. (Or at least on planes) I work for an European based company that uses gallons of loctite for assembly of their components. I know the struggle of sourcing equivalents when the manual tells you the Euro number. You’ll be fine with what you have on hand - 2701.

 

Blue will work, it's what I used and I have been driving mine for a couple of months with no problems.

I just found this and it is dirt cheap. I also found loctite 270.

my options are loctite 2701, 270, and abrolok red.
What would you recommend? Thanks.

 

For the most part anything red is what you're looking for, the colors are fairly comparable between brands.

 

Stick with the 2701 or abrolock red, the loctite 270 needs to be heated to 300’ c to be opened again or in other words a big ass breaker bar and the threads might be damaged on reopening in future.

 

Wow what would you need something that strong for?

 

For reference, purple is low strength, hand tool removal. Blue is medium, hand tool removal. Red is "permanent" and is designated for heat required for removal. Green is wicking type, available in both low and high strength versions.

My guess would be aircraft construction or very high vibration machinery. Even more vibration than my Babies cause I have yet to see it on them in use lol.

 

MTU genset? I used to tend to a set of PC2.5 gensets.
