I don't mind to wait, i am thinking about doing a Factory Order, i try to use the Costco Auto Program, and the sales rep from Carlson Toyota didn't sound too exited about it, theres not a single MT Tacoma near witht the specs that i am looking for, sales rep said that it could take around 4/5 months to get the truck but again i don't mind the wait.

So, i mention to the sales rep what you told me about using all the rebates and he said that there's nothing shady about it, classic sales rep, i am not in a rush to buy to be honest, i will give it a try to the Costco Program and will keep you guys posted.

It’s definitely worth trying Costco. but just go through the Costco auto website. They will try and circumvent it at the dealer level if you don’t. If they told you 38 then you walked and said you were going to try Costco then within the next day or two they will probably come back with their best number. I don’t think Costco is going to be a lot better than the deal you were already offered. For the most part from what I’ve seen, Costco doesn’t get you to great deals. It puts you at good deals. I would say approximately 9% off MSRP. I think it’s invoice -$500. But you also get the customer cash rebate on top of that. When it was $1750 that was a little more significant.

Here is the sticker price with TRD Sport with the technology package totaled $36727 plus tax and license. I ended up paying almost $35000 (they added mud flaps and door guards at the last minute without asking me which amounted to another $180 so it ended up being $35000. Here is MSRP pic

Funnily enough when I tried to go through Costco they referred me to Carlson as well (you must be in the north metro?). I went there and talked to a sales rep. He didn't seem too keen on doing a factory order either, and was trying to do a dealer trade I think but they couldn't find what I wanted in the area. They seemed put out by having to do an order like it was too much hassle. Anyway though, he brought out the price and it was OK but seemed a bit higher than I would have thought and I asked him "so this is the Costco pricing?" and he fumbled a bit and said he "forgot" I was referred through them. Lo and behold he comes back and magically was able to have a lower price by $500 or maybe even it was a $1000. It felt shady to me at least, like he was hoping I forgot I went through Costco and so he could slip a higher price in on me.

Also, when I was talking to him it sounded like they put in some device on your third brake light that causes it to flash a few times when you hit your brakes before it goes solid. Some sort of "safety" add-on they feel they have to install on every vehicle they sell. I didn't get in to it with him because at that point I pretty much knew I wasn't going to buy there, but if I was it would have been a stipulation they don't put that in. I don't want them putting who knows what in to my truck, especially since I'm guessing something like that requires them to cut/splice into the factory wiring on the brake light.

If you can wait, I'd say find a dealer that will do a factory order for you (without griping) and get exactly what you want. I did mine through Walser. They are no haggle pricing, but it was pretty close to the Costco pricing, so it was fine with me. They also have a 10yr/150k drivetrain warranty that comes with all new (and some certificed used I think) cars they sell. Used to be lifetime, but I guess those days are gone now. I'm not sure of the other dealers around the Twin Cities as those are the only ones I've gone through so far. Especially with a 6MT I feel better that mine is coming from the factory and didn't sit on a lot where some person who can't drive stick went for a test drive in it and grinded through the gears and burned up the clutch or something. Might just me being paranoid, but I like mine to be "factory fresh" if I'm going to buy a truly new car.

Just bought a 2020 TRD Sport 4x2 Cement. MSRP 37,710 after a few add ons, floor mats, tint, etc, nothing big. Went through Costco, the price after discount was 33,543, before tax tag title fees. A little over 36k OTD. Happy with the Costco price. and 1.9% APR

So it looks like you are at 11% off MSRP right? Seems really good given that anything over 10% in this environment is solid. Could be that it was a 4X2 (so there may be a little less demand) but good job ... Congrats on the new truck ! :)

@WinterS0ldier what I was alluding to before. This deal is about the same as you are being offered without Costco. Although I assume the 1.9 financing is in lieu of the $1000 customer cash?
