    Hey Guys,

First post here- TRDmedic posted over at toyota120 about this run and im really really tempted- can you guys bring me up to speed on when and where?

i live in walnut creek (east bay) and the only thing is the drive im worried about cause i mapped it and it said 3.5 hours away to barney riley- has the planned changed?

i have saturday set aside for wheeling (per approval of my fiance in the midst of wedding planning) so i need to strike while the irons hot!

Nice to see you over here. The plan is that we are all meeting at 8:00am at the Chevron 12205 Tributary Point Drive Rancho Cordova, CA 95670. You can prob meet up and convoy with some of the guy from the bay. From some of the discussion so far sounds like the trail might be closed, so we might be doing another trail.

I wouldn't mind strawberry. It looks like it is a lot closer to me. :D it would be a nice alternative in case the road to Barney Riley is closed.

I'm betting on 89 not opening back up. They usually close it for the season after the first two major snows.

True, but KillerRed mentioned they are planning a snow trip & I know there was a New Years run up there for the TTORA guys. So is there something we are missing? :spy:

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.

Now I have seen roads closed due to snow that you can still drive on at your own risk now I don't know if 89 is the same way I'm sure if there is snow it's not much. Ive look on Google maps and I don't see and alternate trail in.

But if the road is closed I think we should hit Bear Vally so that every one can still come there is plenty of challenging stuff off the trail for the guys that are heavily moded and all the stockers can still roll.

Sounds good Jerry, and as far as food goes I'm thinking maybe it should be bring your own? Just in case one person forgets to bring something or there isn't enough to go around.

Yeah that's fine I'm still going to bring everything I was going to so if anyone has meat there more then welcome to toss it on the grill.

So I checked out Bear Valley and it's less then 2 hours from Sac but we will have to change the meeting spot to somewhere of the 80 seeing how we would be traveling up 80 and not 50.

So is everyone cool with Bear Valley?

Both fenders bulged in and he can't open the drivers side door and the passenger door pops when you open it. Ripped off the skid plate and he tweaked out his rear axle. He was going about 20mph and drove straight off a dune that was about a 4 foot drop. And who said sand was soft!

My other buddy hit a sand berm at 30mph and bent his A/C condenser and radiator. We had to do a trail repair on the beach. Another friend rolled over twice as he was negotiating a climb. Everyone was a little rattled but okay.
