Has anyone tried using a batwing style awning on a truck that also has a topper? Is there a good way to rig this up so that the rear hatch opens without interfering with the awning?

There is no interference with mine. It's attached fairly low onto the Rhino Rack HD crossbars. You can always extend the Batwing legs higher up at the rear to clear your hatch.

Mine is a RhinoWing that is mounted to Yakima Bars and has no problem clearing the rear hatch/window.

Is this the compact batwing? If so, how do you like the coverage?

That certainly looks like the compact. I think the full-sized version is 8' and 6.5' for the compact? I'm wondering if it's large enough as well.

From the faq on the Rhino website:
Q2. How long does it take to setup up and packup the Batwing?
A2. Approx 1 minute to setup with 1 person and 1.5 minutes to packup

After arching the setup video on e-trailer, I’m calling BS. Looks like more like 10-15 min.
