1.9%@60 months w/TFS, late FEB prior to COVID madness, at the time prime rate was at 3-4% outside of promotion, 786 FICO, still managed to score 13% off MSRP w/out the rebate (MSRP was $44.8k)

Damn. You did good. They gave that thing away to ya, and you got the sweet rate to boot!

I bought on June 17th, and it was slim pickins’ to even find one that I wanted and a lot of dealers weren’t wanting to even come off of msrp lol! I got lucky and found one willing to give me a great deal, thankfully.

Thanks man, not my first go around, had the upper hand knowing how much I could squeeze on price and military rebate helped just a bit ($500), Tacomas aren't as desirable in my region, dealers still have ORs on lots here.

That’s awesome. I somehow scored the military rebate too, though I’m just a veteran and have been out for awhile. I managed to get a total of $4,300 off, my sticker was $39,257. I’m guessing that for you, they went all the way into their holdback and reached deep, lol! I bought mine at Invoice and got $2k in rebates, and didn’t pay a doc fee. Damn BS fees...

Not sure, I used to know invoice pricing (buddy was fleet sales manager in AZ) but every dealer now a days always claims "they are selling it to you below invoice" but I've seen it all over the place number wise. I'm guessing they did go a little into hold back but probably not much. I was $39k, IL sets the dealer fees here so $300, not much for sales tax since I got the credit and they gave me $35k for my 19.

Thank you for your service by the way. And also a vet and got the $500 rebate, but I'm only 10 months out from my DOS. Sounds like you got a great deal as well!

thank you your service as well! If I had to guess, on your truck, invoice was most likely around $2,400 off of MSRP, and hold back was another $1,100 or so. And you got rebates as well, so yeah, you crushed it.

Only got the $500 rebate, they had I think $1000 at the time or the promotional rate, so took the rate instead.

I can’t walk you through Toyota’s logic, since it’s theirs and not mine. but it seems quite simply, they don’t feel there is enough “meat on the bone” on some deals to offer 0%. It’s the exact same logic they use on rebates that others have posted. Take the rebate or 0% but not both.

Did you read this? Also do some homework, plenty of other manufacturers restrict sales price and rebates on 0%, even the japo link someone else posted stated the same.

Oh gotcha. Man, then I’m baffled as to how you got like, what, $5,800 off.... that’s amazing.

In line with the other 3rd gens I bought, 2017 MSRP was $41.5k, paid $36.5k, 2019 MSRP was $42k, paid $37k. Like I said, true invoice I have yet to confirm for 2020, I'm guessing its more than $2.5k, never take the rebate always promotional financing usually is the better deal when I run my numbers. There were guys getting 15% off MSRP with the rebate in the 2020 thread, 10-13% is pretty achievable depending on circumstances.

I helped my MIL grab a RAV4 in May. 0% through TFS, purchased under invoice. Did I think I could have done a bit better, maybe, but they were doing the $1,500 or 0%. All the quotes I got were with $1,500 off and not 0%, so I had to fight back and forth. Regardless, they were pleased.

oh gotcha. Man, and here I am thinking I was a badass for getting 11% off of msrp, with rebates!

15% is just insane! 13% is insane as well, considering no rebates! I am really baffled as to how they can pull that off. I’ve seen Tacoma invoices. The markup really ain’t there. Not like a new American truck, anyways, with $11,000 off of ridiculously high artificial MSRPs.

For sure, 11% is good man, gotta remember most here have spent time researching pricing and working the best deal, I'm sure the average joe is getting below 10% off MSRP. Gotta love that high resale though.

I wonder what that threshold they use is? We bought a new Camry at 0% through TFS and slightly under invoice. I wonder if it’s just situationally dependent, kind of on a case by case basis. Because auto mfgrs and stealerships alike will sometimes pull out all the stops and do anything to sell a car, including breaking their “guidelines”.

True that, I was quite pleased with 11% off honestly, because there’s folks in our area that pay actual MSRP, and are fine with it because of the resale.

Sadly, it was somehow cheaper for me to buy a new Tacoma, than a slightly used one, as the used ones were literally going for over $2k above dealer retail, which is insane. So, hells yeah I’ll take a new one over used, for less money, any day lol!

Yep, after I moved from E4 to E5 and could afford new, realized with these trucks, almost always the best route, especially if your state has trade in tax credit. I feel for the guys in regions like Socal that are forced into MSRP or mark up situations, or right now with the short supply, even in my area, used 18's with 20k miles going for $35k.

That's how they get ya, was a decent step at E6 too, had a few deployments in there with tax free reup bonuses so that helped.

Depends on how you negotiate. I paid $888.00 above the sticker at 0% for 5 years.
