Yes, the difference between me and the rocks is that I move a little faster

Someone hopped the fence and jumped in last year, killing a fish. Its actually a deep hole.

YES!! that's the place. i know they eventually figured it out how the rocks move but it still has such mystery around it i have to go. i love quirkly little things like that.

i've watched videos of the planes. would love to see it in person.

i'll swing by and pick you up on my way!

but i like rocks. and planes. the whole desert, hot, below sea level, snakes and scorpions thing doesn't really interest me.

unless this is real and not photoshopped....can you take me here? bit of a geology nerd so you know...

if you knew what i went through to get the first pic you would be more appreciative

for reference...X marks the spot of where I was to take each pic. It was not a fun hike. Going up was moderately terrifying and tested the limits of my acrophobia. Coming back down was pure torture. I don't think I'll ever go back up there. I ended up getting vertigo so bad on the way down I had to slide/crab crawl on my butt about 200 yards. The trail turns into a very narrow passage along the very loose and slippery scarp. Basically walking on a 6" wide path with a near vertical drop of several hundred feet on your left. I knew it was going to be a challenge when I was going up and was questioning myself every step. But I have camped there dozens of times and wondered what the view was like up on top. Now I know. Curiosity satisfied and nearly caused my death as a result.

That is the view going down to Leadville on the way to Titus canyon. Yes the colors are amazing.

But no, my favorite route is following the old saline salt tram from Owen's lake up to 10000 feet and through a ghost town.

Although the old Inn at Cerro Gordo just burned down. Very sad.

20 years in 120-140° running the steam plants of ships, mainly around the equator. 16 hours a day average except for Sundays which was only 12 hours a day. It can be done. And the sweat in your boots builds up so much it squishes when you walk. Throw your laundry in the bins in the berthing compartment and the weight of the clothes pushes the sweat out of the stack of clothes so that the messenger of the watch has to mop it up once an hour around the edges of the bin. It can be done, and you can live with a few heat strokes and a lot of passing out of heat exhaustion. But it sucks. Oh and because of the steam plant and leakage humidity runs ~80% or higher.

No wonder I live where the air hurts your face months of the year. But I don't want either anymore...

Look small, hmm wonder how they are smoked?! :anonymous:

Not into a Roof top tent never have been because of dogs. But have been in a wall tent with straight line winds coming at me sounding like a freight train. One year was between the Lake of the Woods and International Falls and went into the Falls to eat supper with a friend of mine. His wife warned us that straight line winds were coming and suggested we stay with them. Nah I got this.

This was typical of the damage it caused

Flattened the tent and everything else. Spent the night in the truck rocking in the wind. Funny I was just out on the deck wondering how much I could get for tent and camping gear. I am staying in a cabin at this point forward.

    Because Kal.. erh never mind.

Yes it is Susan, depending on humidity I will go even lower than 95°. A lot lower.
