I am about 9 weeks away from moving from Texas back to Georgia. I decided to list my tacoma for sale locally just to make the move a little bit easier and have one less vehicle to worry about transporting. Its a 18 TRD Sport 4WD Premium w/ 19K miles... Pretty stock other than some K02's, PRO grille, and trifold tonneau cover. I looked up the value (which seemed kind of high), and priced it right in the average range. I received an offer today for 35K cash.

If someone would have offered me 35K 6 months ago, I would have jumped all over it. I am just curious with the current demand, am I selling myself short a little bit? My local dealer only offered 30K and surprisingly Carmax offered 33k. I dont exactly live in a big city, so I wont get interest from Dallas, Houston, etc..

Bottom line, would you hold off for a better offer or is 35k about what you would expect?

    Thanks for the help.

I think thats an acceptable price. Last October I was able to get a new TRD Pro for a few thousand more than that.

I would jump all over 35K. A brand new one can be had for not much more.

Could you get more? Maybe. But it's already higher than your other 2 offers.

What do you have it listed at?

Take the money and run. Quickly. In nine weeks it will be worth less.

EDIT: Hope the offer wasn't a scam. Sounds too high for a three year old truck pushing 20K...new isn't that much more $$

Thanks for the feedback.. Thats kind of what I felt in my gut. My asking was 36.5K.. I was looking at KBB (which i know isnt the end all be all) but I think it ranged from 36-38.5.. which to me seemed pretty high.

That's new truck price right there lol.

EDIT: SO I checked my dealer and they actually don't have a sport with the P&T, but do have an OR at 42K. With any kind of haggling at all, it gets you real close to your price. I think your price is ok, and the offer seems ok.

I’d do it and not look back if I was going to sell.

Haha, thats what I thought. I didnt really have any other trucks in my area to base the price off of, so KBB was what i went with.

I’d take it. Values are higher right now because inventory is limited. Dealers near me only have 1-2 trucks, usually they have like 10-20

A fully loaded Silverado is going for 71k if you can find them right now. That's what I heard on the radio show of car gurus

This is the only thing that gives me a slight pause to hold out for more, but a bird in the hand is whatever...

Nothing wrong with your price or reasoning. I actually think it's a good amount to ask, and since you have an offer, so does that guy. He's getting a fair price and you're getting a fair amount. This seems like a rare occurrence of reasonable pricing for all parties.

30K from the dealer is a joke though.

As long as he doesn’t try to convince you your Windows PC is sending out error messages while en route to the bank you should be ok.

35k is amazing. I think being from a small town helped. Here in socal tacos are literally a dime a dozen so you would have been getting 25k offers all day
