I replaced 4 of the 5 U joints (I have to wait til I get my new slip yoke to do the last). And the carrier bearing.

To be honest it’s a hassle. If you have all the right tools and watch a couple YouTube videos it’s doable. But not as easy as I thought. The front drive shaft was easier. The rear was a hassle because of the carrier bearing. The bolts on the driveline are tightened to about 1000000ft/lbs so without an impact I really struggled. (I ordered one tonight)

    tools that really help:
    - for god’s sake have an impact wrench with 14mm socket on a swivel adapter (or extension might work?) for the cranked down bolts
    - u joint / ball press. I tried my 6” vice and a hammer and two sockets. Not as easy as the new harbor freight u joint press I now own.
    - 24mm socket for the yoke nut plus pry bar to hold the drive shaft while you loosen it
    - 2 jaw puller to pull the slip yoke, I could not get my three jaw puller to get it out, nor a hammer like one video suggested
    - 3 jaw puller to pull the bearing
    - breaker bar
    - 14mm wrench and pipe for leverage
    - 17mm wrench
    - small socket for zerks (8mm?)
    - needle nose
    - small punch to set the clips
    - BFH (Don’t use it the way I did)
    - paint marker for drive line marking
    - center punch to scratch the yoke ridge and driveline spline to line them back up later
    - angle finder?
    - jack stands to catch the drive line
    - grease
    - beer. That was important.
    - other things I forgot?

good luck. Now that I’ve done it I could do it much faster and easier. But you gotta learn some how :notsure:

I hope it depends on the year of the truck, so that we're both right...but I didn't use any additive when I did mine. Should I have? Seems like I read (probably on here) that my truck didn't need it, but not sure what criteria made me decide that.

Looks like its the season for changing your plugs. Again something I should have checked when I bought the truck. It seems very common for Denos on one side and NGK on the other. Also might be the OG plugs after 152k.
Also did the rear diff breather for upcoming trip to Wyoming
And greased the rear drive shaft. Will get front when I take off my skids to change the Tcase and front diff fluids. Fixed my AVS window visors that were starting to peal off. getting the adhesive off the back of them took way longer then I thought, have to do the rear windows tomorrow. And waiting for my K&N filter to clean my throtle body and MAF (I have a feeling they are going to be bad!)

Only if you have the TRD sport. There should be a sticker on the rear diff that says LSD oil only. But if your truck is newer than 09, you do not need it I believe

Finally hooked up the ML ACR and the M LVD to the switches, what a PIA.

Switches are in a 3d printed switch plate temp for now. Now I have plenty of power and the low voltage disconnect allows me to run stuff 24-7 cutting out at 12v to 11.2v based on what I choose.

Installed the camper shell roof rack today. Yakima must be making money hand over fist considering the price of tower/locks. Now onto the camper tail light wiring... @RugglesTarlek

Installed my Desert Does It front seat molle panel, and stuck my fire extinguisher on it. Works great so far, and tucks enough out of the way. I like it!

The website is TACOMABEAST, they're $50, made in the USA, they come with new pin/clips. I used a plastic 90 degree pry tool to remove the old pins.
Your other choice is sold by Gear Tech Customs, by PROTEC. Which are $75/80 and are a singular piece for each side.

it was just crammed everywhere before and I’d go around the truck like 3 times before I found what I wanted and was getting tired of that.

Not all I have in there is necessary but I like being prepared for emergencies and such. Gives that extra ease of mind
