Well I do have stock lower arms and 3.5” BS wheels so I basically have the worse combo for fitting tires around the firewall lol. LT makes the cutting much less brutal

Yikes. Yeah I can see why you had to cut so much. Like you said I have it a lot easier. I only rub the bottom corner at full lock. I’ve thought about getting a large sledge (my mini didn’t do anything) and trying to hammer it it and see if that does enough.

Welding sheet metal holds no interest to me. Well neither does cutting a big ass hole in the floor though.

The bottom corner is a tough spot to hammer back. I got a little out of it with my 10lb sledge a couple years ago, but that smushed metal was a huge pain in the ass to cut out haha

Ah good to know. Maybe I won’t then. I have a 2-5 pound I can’t remember and I tried wailing on the corner and it wouldn’t budge. I maybe with a much bigger one I could do more damage.

Well if you haven’t done it yet by the time I’m out there you can take a look at my crappy job haha. I can’t wait to see yours.

it worked great for my 35s, but the 37s required a grinder haha

Mine is pretty close to clearing. No issues at the top or front. Only the bottom corner at the rear. That’s why I haven’t gone the tub route since I felt like I could just hammer is back enough.

from what i gathered here it looks like 37s are like putting 34s on a 1st gen. to clear 35s we gotta tub the firewall quite a bit. adding a 1" body lift would probably help clear these

I can tell you for a fact that tubbing the firewall for 35s on a first gen requires a smaller hole than 37s on a 3rd gen

is everyone in this thread even fully tubbed? i had to cut way back to the door hing mount to the point i couldn't go any further (although i have 10" wide wheels and 2.3"bs). only good thing was the body mount isnt a problem on them

    Mine isn’t.

I basically have no cab mount left so that’s good. Upper wheel well and front is good too. No issues. But I have long travel.

The problem is the back part of the wheel well. No amount of caster or hammering (I haven’t tried a 10lb sledge yet) will even clear the 37 at full lock on the street. At least that’s on my truck. Others might be different.

@MESO, in your first post you mentioned the KM3s are about 35.5" tall. Do you happen to know of a few other measurements for other tires that are a little taller than that? I have 315/75r16 KM3s now and you're right; they seem to run small. I love the tire but when moving to 37s, idk if I want to feel like I'm hardly on 37s.

My other truck has BFG Baja military HMMWV tires on it. 37x12.5r16.5 -- they have that tall, skinny appearance. I need to measure their actual height on the truck (will update you when I do), but I'd prefer to get closer to these tires, assuming they aren't also 35.5". I'm willing and prepared to hack my truck as much as needed. And I'm prepared to break stuff as a result of being an idiot and choosing to run tires this heavy, lol.

Also keeping my eye on @Marlin Crawler's RCLT...
