    Well I’m screwed again by Alamo Toyota in San Antonio. I’m now terrified to touch anything their service records list. One of the passenger side cam plug bracket bolts was rounded off when I got to it tonight.

    The last person to be under the valve covers was the tech who did the poor valve cover seal job in 2015. :mad:

    I’m just extremely worn out and saddened by this. Another 1-2 weeks waiting for a new bolt. Then I have to somehow get the old one out safely. I could take off work Monday and drive a few hours to the nearest yard with a 5VZ in it.

    Hmm. Well I’m hoping to have the kit installed on the axle sometime this month. Gotta locate calipers that are clean enough that I’ll rebuild them... polish em up and have em powder coated red.


    Then I can work on getting the trans sent out to get built and finally put an engine and trans on this frame.

    Once this frames all setup... the super super fun process of eithe A. Finding an new engine harness, or B restoring my original harness starts. Once that’s done. Hopefully by winter, the truck will be in the body shop getting the whole body redone... and HOPEFULLY I’ll have a complete truck by summer next year...






    assuming I don’t buy more stupid projects

    Tossed the valve cover back on already to protect things. Got to the passenger cam plug and went to take the two bolts off of it's bracket. First one came out fine, second one felt off when I stuck the socket on. So I went and got a 6 point socket and that didn't help either. Now I'm attempting to find the proper bolt part # but the site I normally use doesn't have it listed properly.

    Here's a guy using an impact on them which results in a bad time. I don't own any bolt extractor sockets unfortunately.
