Truck won’t come out of gear

    It won’t come out of gear and the light won’t come on on the dash to let you know what gear it is in is there anyway this has anything to do with it

    That switch is behind the brake pedal. Mine went out, new one wasn’t adjusted had to adjust it. It is threaded. Comes in and out with 1/4 of a turn. Basically is a switch to tell your truck when your foot is on the brake. When it goes out it doesn’t get that signal thus not being able to use the gear shifter. If that makes any sense. Your tail lights will not be working as well. At least that was my experiences with what your describing. Hope that helps.
