Haven’t posted in about a week or so, just wanna drop a line or two.
Still awaiting some stuff for the 4R and then I’ll be taking it in for emissions, round two. I’m confident it will pass this next time around.
Also coming up on 290K and I’ve decided that once I hit 300K, I’ll be taking a sample for a Blackstone UOA. I’ve always wanted to take one but never have. I think 300K will be a nice benchmark for it and will give me a general idea of how the internals are doing. I’m excited either way. Anyone on here have experience with Blackstone? What has your experience been like?
Additionally, I’m excited to be able to buy a 300K mile club decal and rock that. Here’s my 100K & 200K decals at the moment

 

I’ll be honest I forgot how decent these trucks were stock.

 

Actually not too happy with my moogs atm. I was doing a brake job and noticed the BJ boots are cracking after 20k miles.

 

I too got a few scratches this weekend. And broke a cv. And got a fat dent on one door. I love it though, great weekend out, what an adventure.

i usually do a BS analysis when i first get a vehicle to get my oil change intervals dialed it. send in the first sample and see what they say; then extend the oil change interval until its dialed in.

Alright I want some opinions/perspectives on something. I ordered my usual oil off of Amazon last night (Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 5W-30) and it arrived today. Instead of buying the usual 5 qt jug and one 1 qt bottle, I ended up buying a box of six 1 qt bottles. When I opened the Amazon box, I saw the Pennzoil box and the manufacture date on it.
It read Aug 7, 2019.
I feel some kind of way about it, not that it’s probably a huge deal or anything, but like wtf. Year old oil being sold? Why? Am I sweating the small stuff or do I have at least a semi-valid point? I mean I know Amazon is just going to sell whatever stock they have on the shelf, but I’m kinda disappointed about it. Sort of contemplating sending it back and buying the 5 qt/1 qt bottles. Those at least were only a few months old. Not really concerned with that.

Have you googled what an acceptable shelf life for oil is? I haven’t, so I don’t know the answer, but that’s what I’d do for some factual research. It’s probably fine.

 

Currently am at the moment, lol. I’m probably splitting hairs but that’s just how I am.

 

Oil doesn't go bad sitting on a shelf. If you're really worried, I'll pay you the postage to get it far, far away from your truck.

His Bushwacker flares are wider than stock, so he probably has about the same amount as you but it's covered.
