HOW DOES THIS FLOOR JACK WORK?!?!

    how do you use this jack?

    ive never used a floor jack PERIOD (laugh all ya want, its my first truck)

    I cant figure out how to get the damn jack to work!!

    Anyone who has used it let me know.

    (And make fun too if ya want...);)

    If it operates like a regular hydraulic floor jack, you need to use the end of the rod to tighten a nut that holds the pressure in. Then you can jack it up. To let it down, loosen the nut.

    You put the metal rod into the pump and pump away. There's a pressure release (should be a bolt around where the pump portion is located) that the end of the jack rod fits over like a wrench. Tighten this bolt otherwise you won't be able gain pressure and lift the jack. If that doesn't work you have a defective jack.

    That nut should be right near the pump area. Bottom right is where mine is located.

    Some jacks... You twist the handle clockwise then pump it up and counter clockwise to let the pressure out to lower it.

    That's what she said :D....But on a serious note you can usually find it right below the neck where you slide the handle in order to operate the jack. It's usually not a nut but threaded stud with a slot at the end.

    If you look down the end of the removable handle it has a bar that goes across it. You take the bar and put it over the stud with the slot and turn it to release or hold the jack pressure. You can control how fast or how slow to lower the car based on how fast you turn the handle. So yield on the side of caution until you get used to the new jack.
