A few months ago I ordered a Wok from a store in San Fran. I got a confirmation email after I ordered. A few weeks go by and nothing. I email asking about expected delivery date, no response. I call, spoke to employee but the manager is not there. Called back the next day, manager said they were out of lids (it is a 5 piece set) and were expecting a delivery in a few days, can I wait? Sure, no problem.

A week or so goes by and nothing. So I call again, but the number is disconnected. Uh oh. Check my credit card and nothing has been charged. I send an email asking if they are still in business and what's the status of my order. A few days later I got a reply stating they are still in business, still waiting on the lid but they have a substitute they can send if I want. No mention of the disconnected phone. I understand with the way things are right now and the supply chain, so I replied "sure, send what you have". A few more weeks go by and nothing. At this point I'm ready to move on so I send an email stating I'm canceling the order. No reply.

Now, about 10 days after I sent the cancel order email, I get a USPS shipping confirmation email. It's one of those "we have a package for you but are waiting for it to arrive from the shipper". Frack. I checked USPS website and I can stop it, but it will cost a fee of around $18 plus the shipping fee to send it back. I'm not paying for that. I emailed the seller and told them I will dispute the charge with my credit card company, but no response.

The issue is I can't refuse delivery because the USPS will just drop it on the porch and run. I'm trying to figure out what to do, and all I can think is to call my credit card company. Anybody have another idea or advice?

I think it’d be best to mention the actual store hopefully someone can chime in if they’ve run into problems with the same company

Apparently I'm not the only one with the same issue. It's too bad as they had a good rep before. Completely understandable (supply shortage) with the way things are now, but a little communication would go a long way. Family business, overwhelmed. Should stop taking orders for stuff you don't have and have no idea when you will get it, especially if you have a huge backlog of orders.

Decline / refuse the delivery. Post will have to send it back. Dispute the purchase upon them receiving the item back. Work with your cc company and inform them of all your attempts to cancel. I think you’ll be protected.

The delivery will be dropped off on my porch and they will not knock or ring a bell. Short of sitting on the porch all day I can't refuse delivery if I don't see them drop it off.

I’d call your CC company and tell them you placed an order with said company and ask them to decline any charges from this company. Any company that I’m aware of will charge your credit card prior to shipping. If they ship it without charging your card then, to me, that’s sort of like a gift. Obviously you can try to make this right with them however you choose. I recently ordered a new bbq cover from Amazon and afterward I looked back at the same item it was 1/2
The price I paid. When I got the order delivered there was 1 box but inside it was 4 individually boxed covers. I was like crap I don’t need 4 covers but I can always have a second as a spare. I contacted the seller and they said this was a mistake and they said to keep them or give them away as I choose.

My next door neighbor is a retired mail carrier. He told me at one time that as long as you don't open the package they will return it and the sender will have to pay return postage. Getting your money back on the CC will be a different battle.

Write "REFUSED" in large print on the package and take it back to PO.
