    Long term and short term do get sorted via E-Trade. They do that by using a 1099 Consolidated. It's every 1099 type in one form.

    I do my own taxes every year. I use HR Block premium to do that. Last year I think the total cost for Fed and State was $69.99. It comes with Tax Pro support but I've never used it. They keep all my records and returns online for 7 years. It's so easy I won't consider any other method.

    My wife liked to do it the pen and paper way. So seven years ago I gave her all the printed tax info. I had my comp in front of me. I said go. I logged on and had it done in 20 minutes. 4 hours later she finished and we compared numbers. HR Block got us a 7% better return then her slower way. She's never asked for the pen and paper since.

    As far as sorting out all my trading goes. When you get to the "other income" page HR Block retrieves my 1099 C from E-Trade and does it all in seconds. It really is that easy. I don't fill out shit. I trust their software enough that I just give it a quick check for errors on my end and send it off the IRS and State. I've been using it for 12 years and have never had an audit. I've never owed the IRS extra money. It works well for me.

    I'm still trying to figure out what's going on there...I'm inclined to believe it's an elaborate hoax set up by people who pre-planned by placing items for sale and then spreading the story...and that means it's a big buy if it drops...
    If not then it's pretty fucked...

    TD Ameritrade is great because you can auto-import EVERYTHING with H&R Block and you don't have to do anything but read it over and approve.

    What if the Wayfair hoax is a concerted effort to drive down share prices? You get a group together, short the shit out of W and then spread the rumors...pre-set some odd items at weird prices and then release the hounds...even a temporary dip is enough to close your short position and then buy long and 2x your profits...

    weird, we've seen something similar to that back in feb/mar with stock sell-off's that got brushed under the rug and off the media radar from certain folks i cannot name.

    W is down 3% while the rest of the market is up over 1% broadly, I'm going to guess that the cabinet fiasco has had some effect.
