Spare Tire Relocation Help!!

Okay I’m sure I’m not the first person to want this but for some reason I can’t find out how to do this ANYWHERE! I want to mount my spare UNDER my bed rack not on top. Is there a mount or bracket or something that can do that or is there any way I could rig it? Any and all ideas would be so helpful!

 

Pictures? I’m sure you can remove the factory spare contraception and relocate it under the bed rack like you want. It’s easy to remove.

 

Okay cool! I was thinking about that but didn’t know how easy it was to remove the contraption. I’ll look for some forums on here

 

There is a company that makes a rack that has some points to mount the spare tire hoist. It can be done.

 

The spare tire lifter is attached with 4 nuts and bolts. Tedious to remove from between the bed and frame, but not difficult. I pulled mine on principle since the tire is on a swing away

 

If your tire is on a swing, you could cram an on board air system with an air tank in that space. That’s what I did

 

do you know who? I think I might just get a flat spare tire mount but trying to figure out which one will fit the RCI bedrack bars?

Not a bad idea. There wouldn’t be any cramming required it’s a huge piece of real estate... I keep fantasizing about figuring out a way to put a 10 gallon auxiliary gas tank up there....

 

i saw someone was making a tire shaped gas/water tank that could go up there. Same way a tire would. I forgot who but I’ll try and find it. It seemed pretty cool

 

Look up brute force fab. I haven't seen the spare tire set up in person, but it's an option for their rack.

I got a tank and compressor kit from Wolo, just a cheap-ish kit that can keep up pretty well. I got the “spare tire delete bracket” from hornblasters and I had to modify it a little to fit the 5 gallon tank. I ran all the wiring through some wire loom along the frame near the factory wiring to a 30 amp relay and a 25 amp fuse in the engine bay. The compressor draws 22 amps on start up. I also have a solenoid and 1/4” air lines hidden/protected throughout the underbelly to feed my air horns

 

Buy four it's an extra gas tank.
