I like Usman. Is he always exciting? No but that comes with the territory for most champs. Can't go in there and straight throw it down all the time. Look at GSP, Adesanya's last fight, Mighty Mouse, DC, and so on.

he has a style that slowly breaks his opponent down via clinch and ground work. Gets the job done but far from exciting to keep fans tuned in. I don't like Usman based on the shit he says. he was talking down on masvidal like saying he's a .500 fighter, and now after he won, he's one of the best fighters he ever defeated?

Sorry but kind of got trigger by the line of yours that I quoted. This is the fight game. All the pompous yapping is for hype. He and Gamebred were and are incredibly respectful of each. Just watch the post fight, they respect each other’s skills immensely. Next!

Usman is the best in his weight class. His record and the opponents he has beat clearly shows that. No one thinks otherwise. Is he the most exciting and entertaining fighter, not even close. Is it smart for him to fight they way he does, yes.

Usman does not get the respect he deserves. Many/perhaps most UFC fans call him boring and nothing more. Hence this discussion.

He addresses it in the clip I shared. It’s patently disrespectful.

I think most of us or all of us did. It was 3-2 Holloway in my opinion.

It was super close. The official stats are not in his favor though.

 

It is one that will go down as a W for Volk, but as much as I thought Max won, he did not get robbed. Max kind of cruised for a bit because I think he thought he was way up on the scorecards. I dunno, but I thought he edged it out and hated to see him lose.
