Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

And options for those of us with dump tubes, correct?

I bet! I haven't even tried the new tune yet - too much highway driving and my love of cruise control prevents that.
I'm not complaining, but I figured it'd probably be a solid month or more until 2.0 with the bells and whistles was finished so I just opted to wait.
I'm still pretty satisfied with 19800 so it's no big deal.
I was gonna drop the dump tubes out and reinstall the stock exhaust components to get on the newest tune so I took them out, but then decided while they were out to just ceramic coat the outside of the dump tubes and also did the Eastwood internal coating on them and then reinstalled them. I'll just keep waiting .

 

What the dump tube files? I have been driving around with a check engine light waiting for the dump tube files to come out. It doesn’t bother me all that much but the cruise control doesn’t work when the CEL is on.

 

Did everyone’s traction control light come on too with the CEL? Hoping I am not the only one

I traded in my dongle & flashed 2.0, this is not a review of the tune though, not enough miles on it yet. I just wanted to give a shout out to Mat & Rafael at @OVTune, don't know why some folks complain about turn around time on keys & such. I waited 2 days at most thru the process & emails were answered quickly. Thanks you guys!!

 

I've been waiting for VFTuner master key since April.

 

They would not leave you hanging out there that long. Something got lost, either your email to them or theirs to you. I've been running their tunes 3+ years now and always timely responses. Best mod I did.

 

I did some digging around to see if I could make sense of where the tunes are at now but didn't have much luck and we're 3300+ pages into this now and I haven't updated since about 1 year ago (1.05.1 - 91 Base)

Im about to update to the latest file as per the blog post (P5FLASH, FLASH IT, Select file from unzipped folder that matches my truck closest)...

I saw further tunes will not be released for free anymore, just to confirm, does anyone know if we're getting any of the fancy stuff from previous revisions and how they are going to work? Mainly Gearlock and Map switching and are they free or paid map packs?

I saw the post from OVTune at the top of this page but still unsure if free or map pack.

Mine has trailer brakes and a good controller. Still wouldn’t go faster unless wide open nothingness for miles

How’s everyone liking the 04A61 4.88 2.0F files? I’m regearing on Friday. Im currently running the regular 33” thx stock gear file and really liking it.

 

any chance he caved and will let us dongle guys get 2.0 or has that ship sailed?
