What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

It definitely is a great job. It has taken me to some wonderful places around the world, and a few places not so wonderful. Wouldn't change a thing about it, I will retire next December with 40 years and 9 months of service.

 

Caved on raptor lights, got the set from running4tacos. PSA: they don't fit OEM pro grille well at all; had to sand/file each piece and do a good amount of adjusting for each space...their site said to use electrical tape to secure, but that seems like a bad solution for something that's $70.

Milk it for as long as you can Chief. I don't think there is a day that goes by that I don't think about my 12 years in the AF. I know there were bad days and a lot was asked of us but I miss everything about and especially the people I served with. Becoming a civilian again was difficult for me and I even work for the US Army Corps of Engineers now. It's just not the same.

Anyway, got to spend a lot of time on 135's, especially after the "flying" crew chief ended on the B-1's. I flew on A-models with water out in South Dakota and R-models. Damn those R's were the cat's pajamas.

 

Wow! That's really impressive Chief. Most people struggle for 20.

 

The only way to travel in the military is on a R model 135, loved my time as a flying Crew Chief.

Took the mudguards off in anticipation of the 265/75r16 wildpeaks ill be ordering soon, and gave her a wash

Cleaned with isopropyl and painted bare steel bed rack from TacomaBeast. Took a day off, finally, very rewarding.

 

Any contribution from the spouse towards the Taco is a bonus.

yeah, it looks too small. but i think i'll contact them and see if they can send me a sample piece to try out, and if it works see if they can cut me a couple of pieces to fit.

Awesome. My dad was a WSO in the Phantom II. Did a couple tours in Vietnam. He retired back in the early 90s when they decided to close Bergstrom AFB, and he got passed over for full bird Colonel. We've stayed in the Austin area since.
