You don't have to, but it is the general consensus that it is much easier to get a good alignment. UCA $4-500. Ruining a set of tires to bad alignment, possible contact with cool I decided to spend the extra cash. Not necessary, but it helps.

I also thought Baja/pro 2nd gen was 1.5" over stock.

I've tried a few different over the last two years. The best results, Rust-Oleum self etching primer, and Rust-Oleum pro flat black (bed liner or paint) both agree and hold up well.

How did it feel on the ride home?

 

not that anybody cares, but:

Stock 2007 reg cab, 4cyl, MT, 4x4, 210K miles, new frame and all brake parts this year, new wheels and almost new BFG ATs, A/C dead -

driver’s side front axle has about .75” of play at the diff, rumble grumble, goes away when flicked into 4WD...

fix it (new front diff, axles, A/C compressor and blower motor), or... let it go???

 

Do you guys do any exhaust work?

 

...only when I eat brussel sprouts.

 

Front end is probably just the needle bearing. Cheap fix.

You need the ECGS bushing to replace the worn out bearing, sounds like you need it soon too, if you have that much play in the diff.

 

Yeah I was thinking that, but I’m guessing the axle splines are chewed up and maybe the gears in the diff, so was thinking just rebuild/replace it all while I’m ripping it apart...

problem is new diff is like $1500 and, from what I understand, a bear to get out.

if you let it go, how much would you ask for it? Neighbors kid wants a Tacoma.

 

Most of us use "low cost exhaust" in Fairless Hills Pa. They are very good and not hard on the wallet

new frame, shocks, springs, wheels, tires, brakes, busted A/C, busted bearing/diff, dents, dings, >200K miles...

it’s plain Jane, but there ain’t much left to go wrong and there’s a lot of ‘new’ on it

make me an offer....



(smeared it front to back w/ marine grease the day it got the new frame)

Now your neighbor kid has the walk around and you can let him know where to find @MNMLST, although, after I jack the gearbox off the frame to wrestle a new front diff onto some new axles, bust my knuckles bolting up a new compressor, and pay the dealer to charge the system, give myself an aneurysm getting the blower out from under the glovebox, spend a weekend degreasing, buffing, priming and painting all the various doo dads that I find rusted here and there and move the bumper from the ‘15 to the ‘07, I’ll probably be starting to dicker around $8K...

short 4x4, MT with crank windows, fresh BFGs, a new frame, winch and rebuilt front claws...? I’ll keep buying new motors for that thing until I’m dead.

Ah good times. I just remember being weirded out about shutting your truck off (I think I did) when I saw the oil leaking because I barely knew you back then and touching another mans truck is a big no no. Ah how far we’ve come lol
