Been going through my truck - 1999 3.4L 4x4 Manual, doing timing belt, etc. I had a nice new OEM lower radiator hose ready to go for it. I also got a Denso radiator off of Rock Auto or Amazon. Seems only the AT version of the radiator is available, which is what i got. This means it's about 2" taller and has the ATF cooler hose fittings on the bottom. This also means the lower hose port is lower, and my OEM hose won't work (not enough offset).
    My hose is a 16572-07030.
I think I need 16572-07040. I'm going off what ToyotaPartsDeal.com is telling me, says the ....40 part fits code 4FC (instead of VZN160 or 170R which I think is the manual code).
Can anybody verify before I purchase? Or maybe just head to NAPA.

    Thanks!

I'd just get the hose meant for an automatic Tacoma; should be your best bet.

Sorry that I don't have parts numbers for you.

More then once when the hose was to short I cut it in the straight section found a piece of pipe or tube to fit the ID as a temporary fix . That never got changed till the coolant came out in a year or two

When getting the correct part at that time was not a option

Thanks, I’ll try that one! Not sure what the substitution is, I don’t see it online.

I have done that before on another car and it actually worked well haha! Luckily I have 2 trucks so I can use the other one till I get the right part. It’s been down 3 weeks so a couple more days won’t kill it. Still waiting for my fuel injectors on it too!

Appreciate it! Usually Toyota parts deal lists it as “replaced by...” if there is a newer part number, and what you get in the mail is the new number, even if ordering the old number. Figured it may be something like that but didn’t make sense. What is PartSouq anyways?

To close the loop on this- the 16572-07040 is the correct hose for a 3.4 w/Auto Transmission Radiator. Had to pay List for this at th elocal Toyota Dealer which is about double what you can get it for online. Ouch. But it fit!
