    Well this sucks.. I bought the Gator EFX, during installation i found out that it covers the entire deck rail system so i cant use it. I really need a cover right now because i dont want to flood the garage with 2ft melted snow everytime i come home from work.

    For those people who has the same tonneau cover what are your solutions/modifications so that i can use my deck rail system again?
    Im also looking for alternatives, i want Hard folding, low profile and something that retains deck rail system.

    Also, i already emailed gatorcovers.com if i can return it.

    What are you trying to mount to your deck rail that the cover prevents? I don't have this cover, but after looking at installation videos, it seems that even the factory cleats are still able to be mounted to the rails. So anything that mounts to the rail and is flush to the top (but not above the top) should still work. Maybe a picture would help....

    If you have something that mounts to the rails and extends upwards, I don't think there is any flush fit tonneau that would be compatible.

    BAK MX4 - it comes with brackets to relocate the rail system down below the mounting rails for the cover.

    I got some pictures. Nothing really i just want to be able to use the deck rail whenever i need it. You probably watched the video about FX model not EFX because i cant find any.

    Yea, im looking at MX4 to replace my cover but i think im gonna do some cheap modifications first before i sell my gator cover and buy the MX4

    Assuming you may want anchor points along the rail, you can drill holes into that mounting plate that covers the rail and use the T slot nuts w/ D ring anchors where you want them.

    Ah, yes it must have been a different model. I see the issue now.

    I think you could get new rail sections and mount it to the outside of the tonneau rail.

    Thanks for the idea, I havent done any modifications yet because of work. Im thinking to just cut the rest of it and leave where it bolt is but i dont have tools for that lol

    Do u mind sharing where i can get new rail section?

    Exactly. You might have to drill holes in the 2nd set of rails to line up with the existing mounting bolts. You end with a rail<>tonneau mount<>rail sandwich.

    No official solution yet and i have not done my ideas yet. Im also thinking to just cut the part thats blocking the rail and just leave the part where the bolt is but i dont have a tool for it so.

    I was thinking the exact same thing. You think a Dremel will work with circular cutter? Or would I need something stronger?
    So frustrating. I tried to email or contact Gator for an alternative solution but they never reply back.

    Yeah thats why i gave up emailing them because they did not respond, lesson learned order from a reputable company. I think you would need something stronger considering how hard and thick the tonneu hardware is, but you could try.

    I just got one off Amazon. $500 shipped. Works with or without deck rails. Threaded blocks slide in the rail channels. Then a bracket is bolted to the blocks. You adjust/slide them where the hold down hits then tighten them down. 6 hold downs. I am impressed with the quality. Non-Vinyl.

    Just saw this tonneau on sale and was going to buy it. I see the rail issue you had.

    Did you ever try the rail over the tonneau mount? Any MODS to make the tonneau fit and also use the rail that you found?
