    Well, this is unfortunate...
I managed to step on the corner of the screen of my Lenovo Flex 14.
Time to price a screen and see how difficult it would be to DIY replace.

Last time I did one it was pretty simple. Much easier than a phone screen imo

Did you do just the display or the entire assembly with hinges?

I can get the display for about $60 or the whole assembly for $150,

So I'm sitting here going back and forth and messing around with PcPartpicker. Anyone have any recommendations on a mobo for an AMD build? Gaming and work from home currently. Wasnt thinking of worrying about overclocking. Just getting lost in it all with the sea of info. Would you even attempt to build right now or would you wait a bit to see if/when this :crapstorm: will blow over?

Too many but also not enough mods
I would wait for Ryzen 4000 desktop CPUs and next gen GPUs. Shouldn't be too much longer, maybe 3-4 months

The MSI Tomahawks are rock solid. B450 will be compatible with Ryzen 3000 series, and are supposed to get a bios update to support Ryzen 4000. x570 Boards support Ryzen 3000 out of the box, and will also get an update for 4000 series. Stay away from the cheap MSI (<$190) on x570, go ASUS TUF or Gigabyte. B550 boards are also working their way into stores, but for the price they don't offer massive improvements over the x570 models, so most just recommend people get a B450 on the cheap or X570 for a bit more.

Does anyone know where I get the high bandwidth SLI bridge for my 1080's.? And also what spacing I need for the correct one?

Also, lastly...is it even really necessary?

Thanks for making that a bit easier. I have been leaning to a x570, but may wait a little bit to see about the new chipsets coming up in the next few months I believe? This might give some time for prices to drop some, but from what I have seen, prices have been a bit wonky with the current state of things.

CPU prices have been fairly stable. AMD discounted the 3600, 3700, and 3900 in favor of the 3600XT, 3800XT, and 3900XT respectively. Prices probably will drop further when 4000 series drops, but they're all stellar CPUs. Can't go wrong buying, just make the jump when you feel good about it! Ryzen 4000, AMD Big Navi GPU, and GeForce 3000 series are all anticipated to hit before the end of this year. It's getting exciting.

Intel is talking about some weird CPU designs to try and catch AMD. BigLittle designs, where some cores are more efficient and some are more powerful, and designs with HyperThreading, cores that are Hyperthreaded have to run at slightly lower clocks, on only half the cores are coming. I think Intel figured out they're screwed. From rumors they haven't been able to match Zen 2 IPCs with their new design so they're probably going to try to use a really weird design that let's them throw massive amounts of power into 2-4 cores on an 8-12 core design to match Zen 2s overall performance. The problem with that idea is that Zen 3 is supposed to be even more power efficient and the engineering samples are showing crazy low memory latency, which has always been what keeps Ryzen slightly slower than Intel at some games. If that's all true is might be 2022 or 2023 before Intel can catch AMD, which is crazy.

    Yeah.
My recollection of the Pentium 4 days was that they were chasing clock speeds, and then the Israel team came up with the Core design utilizing PIII architecture. So, they may be able to pull something out by combining various IP. Will be interesting to watch, for sure.

Thats the thing, I figured a 3700x would be a good middle ground. Plus if I wanted to upgrade the cpu later I could without possible issues on x570.

Plus side I only need the main components. I have SSDs already and may add an NVME. Already have a case and a overkill power supply from my current setup. That will save a little cash there.

Sort of. No one looked at the PIII/PM designs again for desktops until after Netburst hit a wall around 4 GHz. It was a panic move. In fact, if I remember correctly, the only reason that team had a head start was because P4 was so garbage as a laptop chip that the Centrino/Pentium Mobile project was running concurrently to provide a viable mobile chip. That chip became the basis for Core.

Intel will figure something out, I'm just guessing with the shots in the dark they're trying a simple rebuild of Core isn't getting them where they thought it would.
