I'm thinking that the rush off road office has secured wifi for cashier registers. Something like that.

Sounds good. I plan to be there on Thursday. I work house remodeling. So I'll see if I get the weekend off from Thursday to Sunday.

I hope. If I get a call, then Ill have to go home. I will explain the workers.

Is there a sample pack I can get? I like new things but dont know enough to elegantly request anything specific. Unless "something like basil haydens" translates

A sampler pack is a great idea. Unfortunately, we don't make anything like that.

It's been years since I had Basil Hayden's, but based on the "specs" the closest thing in our range is probably Buffalo Trace. Similar ages, but different proofs.

Buffalo Trace and Beam also use very very different yeasts, so they won't taste too similar. They will share some characteristics like sweetness and some spice from rye in the mashbill,
but BT will be more vanilla/caramel and BH will be more nutty and light fruit and a little less flavor due to lower proof.

Overall, I don't explore outside of Sazerac products much, but I do like Elijah Craig a LOT and Willet is good too. I'm not so big on Angels Envy, Beam, or Brown Forman products (Jack, Woodford) but it's all just personal preference.

Actually, a good option to try might be Ancient Age 90pf. It's a pleasant surprise, esp at the price point.

    I do the shot sometimes.

I get the shots at the bar once awhile.

I don't want to drink shots too much because I may have to go home if they need me back to work.

Be glad to have you there! If you've ever wheeled RRG, then you can handle Rush. It just has a lot more gnarly climbs due to the several gas and power line cuts spanning the property.
Look at Rush on Google Maps, satellite filter, and you'll get a feel for what to expect.
Gotta wheel to know how to spot. I'd never trust a spotter that leaves their truck at camp...
You did help A LOT! Especially once you yelled, "Everyone else shut the fuck up! I'm spotting deeds up this fucking rock and he's gonna make it to the top!" or something similar
This-ish, helped me understand that my 33s were too small on the driver side lol
    Also this.
No wifi, limited cell coverage. Only way to wheel and camp, duh.:rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

I'm no wizard or expert in this field, but I'm out standing in it.
You can have an unlimited 10GB speed plan to the latest and greatest tracking device, but that's not gonna fix lack of cellular coverage. We all very likely have service from one of the big 4 carriers, none of us have had solid reliable coverage throughout the park. If you've never seen mountains and hollers, then you've not explored Kentucky. Get a satellite phone for that. Kidding, don't.

    This is why wheel!!!!

No problem: Buffalo Trace, Benchmark, Ancient Age, BTD Cream, 1792 Cream, 1792 Small Batch

Less easy: Eagle Rare, Sazerac Rye, EH Taylor Small Batch, Blanton's

    Ask the OH boys: Weller

Don't bother: any EHT special releases, Weller special releases, 1792 special releases*, Antique collection, Pappy/Old Rip, Elmer T Lee, Rock Hill, etc.

I am not planning to be a spotter on first day. I was talking about afterwards. I can be a cameraman any day. :)

    Oh well.

Like I said I'll see what I can do when I get there.

    ?

    I don't drink much either.

I plan on leaving Friday morning which puts me at Rush at 1 or 1:30. Then wheel Saturday and probably leave Sunday.

Sadly, not much different than what I can find in stores here. Probably less of the small batch stuff, but potentially "better" priced.
I'll just have to see if Weller is available at the local spots.

Yeah, unfortunately I don't have special access. I just might have a little easier time getting the mid range stuff.

I've got to hunt for rare things just like everyone else. Sucks but that's how it is! I usually don't even bother and stick with my BT. No complaints whatsoever.

    We like pictures.
I'm telling you, there's no service there. Not unless you drive or hike up in elevation. You'll get spotty service while we're out on trails. Don't expect to have coverage, just be surprised when you do.
    That's what she said. TWSS
