Sometimes I like to go to the dealership websites and check new & used inventory for fun, but holy hot damn things must be rough. They have practically nothing of anything:

Is it like this for a lot you guys in your areas as well?

All of the N. American production plants were shut down for 7 weeks. Vehicles continued to sell (albeit at a slower rate). That 7 week gap has caught up to the dealers.

And no....neither of my local dealers have much of anything

I bought my Taco from a large dealership here in So.Cal. in early April and at that time their website showed they had 170 Tacoma's and four in the trim that I wanted (4x4 OR,DC,MT) in various colors. I just checked and their down to 20 Taco's. None in the guise that I wanted, mostly either fully-loaded Limited's or SR's and SR5's. Their inventory of Tundra's is also down to almost nothing too.

That's actually why I bought my Taco when I did; everything I was hearing and reading when thing's started shutting-down was that it was going to get real hard to get very specific models and trims. I'm glad I bought when I did.

In my town, the gm, Subaru and Nissan dealerships are loaded with vehicles.
The very large used car place across the street from them has almost NOTHING on the lot. They probably had 200 a couple months ago, down to 30-40.
    Odd times

Still several in my area but definitely less than usual

We are pretty shielded from the madness on the coasts here in the fields - in almost every way.

There does seem to be very few cars on the dealer lots in my area. Alabama. Past one the other day and lot look 1/3 full. Usually trucks parked out on grass near street but none now.

And there were folks speculating they were gonna get a steal of deal when Covid started. In that thread, I remember saying there's MFGs, like Toyota that protect their brand, and there's ones that don't, and flood the market with what they think the consumer should want.
Now to be fair, this one is unique, but still, there's MFGs that pay close attention to the supply chain, and there's some that don't. They're also protecting their customers,,, us with the high resale value.

GM is laying off due to poor sales

One Toyota dealership on my commute lists about 20 Tacomas in inventory, and they're not one of the larger dealerships in the metro.

There are 62 now listed in my area. This is up from low 50's about a week ago.

Sounds like waiting for that Miracle Deal wasn't a good idea if you actually needed a Truck. Trucks are selling well in General, probably because they are a necessary thing for many people.

Most people that kept jobs have extra money right now. Everyone is doing outdoor activities. Gas is cheap. It's the perfect storm.

I wonder if they're doing what my dealership here in NOVA did. They were listing all of the trucks coming in in the next month or two so that people could put deposits on them. Showed 150+ on the website but didnt actually have any physically on the lot. They were all being bought on the same day they came in.

I went for service at my dealer this past week and they only had a few Tacoma's and one Tundra. That shows that those models really sell fast!

The lots are pretty empty of Tacomas in the Dallas area
