So I ordered an Amazon Firestick and installed it over the weekend. I also ordered a mini hdmi to female hdmi, and an 12 volt female cigarette socket. I originally wired in an dual 2.1A usb port, which was not enough power to keep it running without the deck switching between the home screen and netflix movie I attempted to watch. The power supply needs to be 3A or above to not cut the firestick in and out. Not sure on which model usb power i have, but it is a samsung car charger with 2 usb outlets. Long story short, it is pretty cool. Gives you quite a bit of options. Also can take advantage of the firefox browser and FULL internet instead of just what pioneer lets u look at. I do have the brake bypass installed with the gps antenna and vss wire disconnected. Just thought I would let u guys know if interested.

(I did not wire the fuse in on this. The power already comes from an add a fuse I installed)

My phone Bluetooth been working since I installed the headunit. Now it does not work anymore. When I'm making calls or receiving calls, the person on the other end can not hear me. However, I can hear them. I have checked my microphone wire and there is no visible damage to it and it is fully plug into the connection in the back of the headunit. Have anyone else encounter this problem?

Can confirm, the software bypass does work.

Quick question about the maestro with this HU. Does it allow you to keep all of the basic HU functions? Like the dash display of your current music. If not, what functions do you lose?

Mostly all of the screens still work like before including the music screen which now shows additional sources for CarPlay etc. The one screen that is now blank is the compass screen.

So only downside you have noticed is not being able to enter an address while moving through the head unit? Just curious. I have the bypass installed and VSS/GPS antenna disconnected. While this works, and not sure if its related, my gps apps, waze/google maps don't start showing my location between 1-7 minutes. Do you have an hdmi/or internet source hooked up and can confirm it works while moving? Also, what do you do with the parking brake wire from the pioneer unit if not using a wired bypass? Just ground it? Thanks

I use the software bypass. Connected the gps antenna and the VSS wire, and all other wires according to the instructions. Accurate position information using Apple Maps and Google maps is instantaneous for me.

Does your pioneer allow you to enter an address in waze or google maps while in motion? I also am running ios14 so I don't know if this is just a compatibility issue for me. Thanks

Wait, are we talking about the same thing? I am talking about using wired and wireless iphone carplay, then from the HU adding a new destination using waze and google maps while driving. Sorry if i misunderstood.

Ok sorry. We are talking about using either a wired in video bypass with VSS and gps antenna disconnected versus using the software bypass. What I am asking is by using the software bypass, are you able to enter a new destination in CARPLAY by using the screen to enter, or does it stop u from inputting while in motion? Also by using the (software only) bypass leaving the gps antenna and vss wire connected, does it allow any kind of video while in motion? Either by internet like you tube, through the head unit, or an input playing through the hdmi while in motion? I have a wired in bypass and VSS/gps antenna disconnected. This is allowing me to have ANY video play while in motion. The problem I am having is that waze is not recognizing that i have left my house for up to 8 minutes of driving. I am running ios14 so I don't know if this is conflicting.
I know its a lot so really try to read it all before answering. Pretty important. Thanks for you time.

Lol no please. How is your set up? Sorry if I sounded rude. Didn’t mean to. Was just saying I know it’s a lot of semi confusing scenarios. Lol
