What are you paying for 2020 Tacomas?

I hear you there ! I wanted a black SR5 and ended up with a gray TRD OR. No worries. I am happy. Look at the place in NJ (I edited the post to include a link). They have more. Kn general search NJ, CT and then NY as a last resort. You might find what you are looking for ! Best of luck !

 

It's closer than Albany is. I see they have your black SR5. I was looking for an sr5 double cab. The two colors I liked best were Cement and silver but really I could go with anything but black, it's just tough to keep looking good. I'd go with an OR to if the deal was right.

 

Unfortunately for me they didn't have that black SR5 when I was looking. Story of my life. Couple of strategies that might help you:

1) Go to Dealerrater and pick out the biggest / highest rated dealers in NY, CT and NJ. Then look at their inventory. You might get lucky.

2) Go to Car Gurus and pick a dealer in each state and do a search / sort by zip code and select a wide radius (100 miles). You can also sort by color, model, etc. You might get lucky.

I did the Car Gurus thing and found a good dealer in CT that was an hour and a half from me ... it was worth the drive ... but that was pre-Covid. We stopped for lunch, etc. Fun times. Did the whole deal over the phone. Signed papers and was out in under an hour. It was just when Covid was breaking so we were all wearing masks ... they had an incentive to get me in and out on Saturday morning.

Awesome. All you have to do is punch in zip codes further north and you will find the truck of your dreams. Should be able to do the deal over the phone given that you are a serious buyer and these dealers have grown more accustomed to that kind of thing given the current situation we are in.

 

Yep TFS or Toyota sells their own extended maintenance plans and Troy could also square you away.

 

Thanks man. I talked with him about the rates for the platinum warranty. Pretty awesome. $900 for the six year 100,000! My dealer was trying to push that package for three grand

 

Yep, he just sells it to you at cost, I'm sure because of the volume he gets a nice bonus from Toyota at the end of quarter/etc. so its worth it to him, local finance guy is just gonna try to squeeze whatever they can out of you.

I was looking in the Raleigh area, but that's a good tip I should look state wide.
I looked in NY, Connecticut and NJ there was some trucks but not in colors I was ok with. I feel like when I do find ones I'd like they are listed for MSRP and if I make an offer for 8-10% off it will probably be ignored now.

 

What spec's are you looking for? Color, Sport. OR packages etc? Most Websites let you look a certain number of miles from your location. If your covering NC your probably picking up 4-5 states all around you.

 

Preferred colors are Cement and sky silver. I'd take QS for the right price. Not interested in black and red, those are the ones I tend to find most in searches.
Looking for double cab 4x4 v6 SR5 or OR. Not looking for a bunch of fancy options. Those two trims seem to be in high demand/low supply now.
It may be worth waiting to see if more trucks hit dealers in August.

I have a vehicle that runs ok so I'm not in urgent need now.
