Redid this layout today. The panel was catching too much wind and making a lot of noise up there so I moved the panel behind the MaxTrax today. Will go for a test drive later this evening.

Can you provide information on the front hitch/bracket system? Is that for being towed, or for load bearing (i.e, snowplow or front rack?)

@imagineer That is for my personal snowplow. I only do my own driveway, nothing else.

Thanks. Can you provide a manufacturer or model #. I have a plow kit from a recently sold Jeep TJ and would like to try and retrofit it onto my Tacoma.

Did some things, build thread was one of them over the last week...also did a "Face/Off" bumper swap to start off the weekend, couldn't pass it up...SSO Slimline Hybrid + Stage 1 bumper.20200712_095845~2.jpg 20200713_073537~2.jpg 20200711_160124.jpg

No cutting involved with swapping color matching bumper pieces + huge savings and no lead time = Win in my book!
I know the replacement clips and double sided tape arrive today...I busted (before or during install swap) the side retention bracket, and it should be arriving this week.20200712_174951.jpg

The orange trim is dope isn’t it? My white truck has it too. Can’t even imagine it without it.

Installed a cheap waterproof roof box.
I used a Ridgid tool box (https://www.homedepot.com/p/RIDGID-22-in-Pro-Organizer-Black-222571/205440492) and temporarily bolted it down with m6 bolts and rubber coated pipe clamps. I have been using these tool boxes for years at work and they can definitely handle being abused but we will see how they handle going 80 mph down the interstate sideways.

I have stainless pipe clamps, larger stainless flat washers, stainless flat top m6 bolts, and stainless nylock nuts on order. Once I get my new hardware I will reinstall the box and install a second box on the other side of the basket, just to keep the look balanced.
The cost of both the boxes, all the stainless hardware, and a set of 4 master locks is still less than just the cost of a Plano AW 36" gun case.

Smart use of those boxes, was looking to upgrade my camp kitchen 'Brute' bin into a few of these that can be stacked and wheeled...I'd be interested in your feedback and the results after you get the new hardware installed and through a few interstate rain storm trips:D!

I should be getting my hardware on Wednesday so after I get both final installed I'll take it through the touch free carwash to see how they handle high pressure blasts. And on Saturday I will be driving to Missouri, 600 miles of interstate, so I will give an update then on how the boxes handled all day high speed driving.

I'm intrigued. I may use this box to combine first aid and recovery gear since it has organizers. Interested in hearing the review
