Worst case, I just file a complaint with PP Credit. Never ever had an issue that wasn't solved with them. Super easy steps too

Sure, you might get your money back, but guaranteed the scammer still got some money out of this, too.

This is exactly what the scammers expect to happen, since they don't actually intend on sending you a viable product in the first place. They wouldn't do something like this if they didn't get cash out of the deal.

In other words, this is really just encouraging scammers to keep doing what they're doing.

 

or they're hoping some people will pay for it using gift cards or debit cards which would be harder to dispute charges on, then walking away with that money. Or those people that just don't want to or forget to dispute it. They'll definitely walk away with some money out of this which is shitty but the way of the e-commerce world unfortunately

 

which is why I'm not really a fan of buying them in the 0.00000001% chance they'll actually send some shocks. While the buyer using PP or a credit card they can dispute the charges may not be out any money, that does nothing to prevent people that aren't as savy from getting screwed.

 

Some people need to get screwed in order to learn.

 

Honestly, that's a really terrible justification for continuing to allow scammers to operate.

Exactly. Most of us aren't going to but a fool and his money will always look for the "too good to be true" deal. Scammers know this and they will never stop. Been going on since the beginning of commerce.

 

No but we should be holding places like Walmart to the coal for allowing this to happen when it's so blatantly obvious.

Scammer will always keep popping up, bat at the very least Walmart should at least pretend to vet their sellers.
